Bush did his best to protect this country, despite all the hate mongering Clinton leftovers in his adminsitration, Pentagon and the CIA . Jumpin Jim Jeffers and the RINO from Arizona didn't help much neither. I wish that Mr. Bush had been more forceful and stood up to the libs. His reaching across the isle just got his hand bitten.
The media is to blame for manufacturing the news instead of reporting on it. For distorting the facts to sway opinion, Reporting on secret programs and placing military and operatives in harms way. The media did more to harm this country than Mr. Bush ever did, with their blind hatered of him.
Are you kidding? What Country have you been living in over the past 8 years? Bush standing up to liberals? He simply ignored them. Reaching across the aisle? Maybe to slap a democrat in the face, or kiss Traitor Joe Lieberman on the dome. For every RINO, I can name you a DINO.
You should thank the Main Stream Corporate Conservative Media for shelving many stories that should have been told, thus protecting your hero. The first one that comes to mind is the NYTimes (liberal my ---) sitting on the warrantless wiretapping story for a year until the 2004 election was over. Yeah, keep blaming that mythical "liberal media" for all your problems.
I thought the republican party stood for "personal responsibility". I suggest you start taking some of that and accept the fact you got a lemon for a "preznit". Stop blaming others.
His "protecting the country" suddenly started on 9/12/2001. Before that, I guess he was vacationing.
john, as one of your Clinton left overs who thought he has seen it all I can now state that I have seen what real honest to God incompetence is really like. How can you stand there and claim we did ourselves a service by electing this presidential want-to-be not once but twice! We don't hate Bush but we sure do hate having stupidity controlling our future.
Get off the kool-aide. The man made his own disasterous fatilism manifest its ugly head thoughout our entire society and send us on a truely tragic road to ruin. What a moron!
MBrown 49 What country do you live in? The Media slants every story to read however they want it to. There is no respect for the office of president since your beloved Bill Clinton disgraced it. The majority of the problems in the last 8 years (except natural disasters) were the result of failures of the Clintons. Including 9-11. We were all so thankful that George W. Bush was president on 9-11 and not some wishy washy liberal.
John_ I agree completely. The media, politicians, and fellow citizens have not given Bush the credit and respect that he deserves. Even the millions of citizens who just got interested in their country during this past election will one day appreciate the safety we have enjoyed since 9-11. President Bush I thank you.
I did not vote for Obama but I will support him as he is my new President. I will rise when he enters the room and will support the most powerful person in the world who was elected by Americans. I just hope he can do half of what many people perceive he will do. He has qualities above what most man have, however he is still only a man.
Do not just be proud, be proud every day.
Robert M Cali
Under this administartion we have gone back to the dark ages. Lucky for us GWB and his sidekicks are leaving soon. We have some major repairs to do.
I enjoy how alot of you who have comments about the decisions he has made in Iraq and Afghanistan when the majority of you do not serve or have never served your country that you supposedly love so much. The majority of service members signed up to go and fight for there country and the best interest for those who inhabit it. Bottom line dont comment unless you know what your talking about. He did the best he could with what he had on his plate. If you think you could do better then run for President or join the military instead of judge!
Lies ????????????????? Man, you really have to do the research, read the books by people the "used to be" in his administration. If you get all your news on Fox Noise, then you're not getting the real picture
John is quite the moron. People like him, voters like him, are the reason this country is in such sad shape. I hope all the Johns out there enjoy watching Mr. Obama's inauguration on Tuesday.
Bush wasn't the greatest, but I wouldn't necessarily call him the worst either. Most of the people who call him the "Worst in history" are lemmings who are simply parroting back what they hear from the media. The percentage of the electorate who actually THINK and form their own opinions (rather than waiting to be spoonfed by Keith Olberman) is alarmingly low. For those who want to blame Bush for all the bad things that have happened in this country I would advise them to pick up a Civics 101 textbook. In it they will learn (to their utter amazement I am sure) that there is another branch of government called........ the CONGRESS..... and.... now stay with me here...... the CONGRESS has the "power of the purse"... which means they appropriate the $$ spent by the federal govt. So..... while Bush deserves the be criticized for many blunders (I actually dislike many of the things he did in office) I simply can't stand all the simpletons out there who spew out anti-Bush rhetoric simply because the guy next to them is doing so. Our U.S. Congress is FULL of corruption and incompetents and they own *at least* half of the blame for the mess this country is in. For God's sake people do some reading and EDUCATE yourselves!!! Of course, once Obama is sworn in the world's problems will be fixed and none of us will have to think for ourselves anyway... LOL Give me a break....
What? Clinton leftovers? Do you folks accept responsibility for anything? The Republicans have had the White House and Congress for 6 years! You can't scuttle away from this disaster with the rest of the cockroaches, they have destroyed our lives and our futures and it will take years to regain our standing.
Your hate and lack of cognitive depth have allowed this country to be raped and trampled beneath the feet of an idiot savant. You should feel shame for what has happened here in this once great country.
Pure, unadulterated BS. Bush was on "the ranch" in August 2001, ignoring multiple warnings that Obama planned to attack the US. Ashcroft knew better than to fly commerical, yet airline security was NOT boosted. The Big Lie is this: That Bush "kept America safe." 9/11 and the anthrax attacks HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH. Yet not a SINGLE PERSON was reprimanded, fired or demoted for the most monumental security lapse in our nation's history.
If you are going to drink the kool-aid you might want to put some sugar in it! Obviously you've been living in some bizarro world, or you're the ghost writer for Coulter and Limbaugh.
John - 817162.
Wow, you are so misinformed that it scares me to think you may actually possess a drivers license and be on the same roads as me, operating a motor vehicle, probably as unsafely as you operate your mind. I don't know where to begin, in fact, I don't have the energy to even attempt to save you from yourself. I wish you luck because you are obviously in a great deal of mental distress. God Bless and get well soon!!!
Are you serious?! The coward put us in a hole that may take decades to recover from. I wish his supporters would acknowledge this and quit trying to push the blame elsewhere. And by the way I am a veteran and I voted for him (mistake). The coward is nothing more than a chicken hawk!
AMEN. He is seen as a bad president because the media portrayed him this way. Need I remind you all that he took over when at the beginning of a recession from Clinton's presidency? But of course the liberal, left wing who all say they are in favor of free speech monopolize the media. All the 1/2 brains follow only one news source like msnbc and can not do intelligent research to figure out what really caused this mess. People fail to realize it was the democratic plans, particularly the clinton administration who thought it was the right of all Americans to own a home regardless of their financial history. Executives at Fannie Mae started to receive huge bonuses when mortgage loans targets were met. To help push the Clinton program, Franklin Raines and Jamie Garelick, from the Clinton Administration, were given top positions in Fannie Mae. But it is pointless to refer back to this because Americans are to stupid to do their homework to understand the real cause of our problems
Clinton got a free pass for all the crap in his administration because he was charismatic and could speak well...
somehow I think those whose comment is "stop watching only Fox News" may want to stop only watching Keith Oberman, John Stewart and Bill Mahr for their news. Bush inherited a recession from Clinton, then a terrorist attack from Clinton. He gets blamed for global warming and Hurricanes. Especially when stupid people dont get out of the way of hurricanes. You libs will be the end of the country if your mindset is the Government will solve all your problems. Good luck with Obama. "Only Government Can Solve this financial Crisis". Right. IF Government could solve it, it would have never happend. Oh wait, the Democrats ran Freddie and Fannie, so it must be Bushs Fault. Was anything bad that happened in the last 8 years NOT GW's fault?
tcMOM, you do realize it was President select Bush that was in office on 9/10/2001, right? He ignored evidence about a possible planned attack in August 2001,. He chose not to boost security after all the warnings AND attacks that had occurred, such as the first World Trade Center bombing, and the attack on the USS Cole. So, yes he was the guy in charge on 9/11/2001, but that isn't something to brag about. Had he really sought to protect the US he wouldn't have waited till AFTER the attack his administration knew was almost 100% coming. Then he, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and so many others LIED us into a war where thousands of young citizen soldiers have died, those same citizen soldiers we, as a people, swore we'd never ask them to enter into harm's way unless there was no other recourse. A LIE is not a reason to ask citizen soldiers to go and kill and possibly get wounded or killed. How can those who serve this country ever forgive us for our tacit complicity in this LIE? How can they ever trust us again? I have friends who have either served in Iraq, Afghanistan and in some cases both, or are doing so right now. Those who were wounded in Iraq, and the families of those who died there may find it in their hearts to forgive us one day, but we'll need to earn that forgiveness by making sure that this not only never happens again, but those that orchestrated it are brought to justice.
You keep singing the praises of a man who has publicly aknowledged he lied to us, that he ordered torture and other war crimes. History will not only judge Bush and Cheney and company, but also people like you that are apologists for them.
tcMOM-
I live in a realm of reality and understanding, unlike yourself. Hasn't it occurred to you by now that you belong to a dwindling group of dead-enders who still defend this sociopath and his failed policies because you can't think for yourself and you need outlets like the Fox Propaganda Network and other pundits who take their orders from their corporate masters so you can have your flawed ideology soothed?
No one has disgraced the office more than this murderous SOB. No one. As I've posted before, you can keep dwelling on Monica Lewinski while the country circles the drain. I'm no Bill Clinton fan because he's still a corporatist no matter which way you slice him. He resembles a republican with a few democratic qualities.
Keep deluding yourself and blame all others for your failures. Blame the Clinton's, blame liberals, blame that mythological liberal media, BUT make absolutely sure you don't blame yourself. You're just flawless like your hero the Feurher. Congratulations.
You idiots blame Clinton for a whole bunch of crap! So the guy got a little in the White House. Get over it!! We had a great run for 8 years... I know I and the rest of the Country prospered under Clintons leadership and we had a much better opinion of ourselves and the direction we were heading. (OK... now all you Reaganites chime in... Reagan left Clinton with a great opportunity and the country in good shape) then you'll say Clinton got a free ride... then you'll say he left Bush with a mess. Heard it all before.... It get tiring hearing the Bush supporters constantly blaming someone else. It is the blame game... (liberal press, wrong information, left Bush a sagging economy, etc, etc) You idiots elected him to a second term that he had NO right to win!!!
The worst president and worst economy in more than 25 and maybe now 50 years... all on Bushes watch!!! He ignored YOU and the rest of us while he played war games. He's been secretive, selfish, stubborn, got poor advice for his hand picked administration (who began bailing on him left and right).
What a freakin mess...!!! Bush supporters are a bunch of chumps because you refuse to recognize that you were fooled ad foolish to vote for him. I thought Bush 41 was really bad. Bush 43 takes the prize...
Oh yeah... when you pay $4.00+ for gas... think about why Bush pushed for green energy alternatives... but did not do a damned thing to deal with rising petroleum prices. DUH!!!!
Trust me... any true conservative is no fan of #43.. not by a long shot... the entire Republican party abandoned conservative prinicples a long time ago... It's true that things were "better" when Clinton was in office, but to attribute that solely to him is truly naive... just as it is naive to attribute all the bad things today to Bush... He contributed.. no question there... but he wasn't alone.... but for some reason he's the only one getting the blame...... Do people honestly believe that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, et al are blameless?!?!?
Last I checked gas was $1.73 a gallon. So... by the logic I've seen displayed here thus far... it looks like Bush can claim sole credit for that... Way to go W! LOL...
yeah we pay $2/gal for the next 3 months, but it took an economic depression and one of the worst wallstreet crashes in history to get there.
Everything is connected, true enough... the economic situation has caused consumption to go down, thus driving oil prices down.. that whole 'supply and demand' thing.... but my point is that to solely blame BUSH for what's going on right now is wrong... He bears a good amount of blame... but so do those monkeys in Congress.. on BOTH sides of the aisle... we are not being served well by either branch of the govt...
Clinton left Bush with an intel report titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike Wthin the U.S." Bush and his neocons ignored the warning and instead began looking for ways to start a war with Iraq. Bush policy of "freedom in the mideast" as a solution to the regions problems has been an unmittigated disaster with Hamas, Hezbola and other radical islamist groups gaining political power through elections. Bush ignored his military commanders when they told him it would take 420,000 troops to keep the peace after defeating the iraqi army and this allowed the iraqui Civil War. The "surge" (actually, an increase of less than 10% of combat troops) did nothing - it just happened to coinside with the end of that civil war as the Iraqui's had finished their ethnic cleansing. Worst. President. EVER!
Bush did a good job with the economy how it is there is nothing he could have done about it. Maybe people should start paying their own bills and should have budgeted their money better. Besides that Clinton made a huge mess for Bush to fall on and clean up. I am not saying he is a godd president or bad...but there has been worse then him and no democrat could have done better. If Bush really wasnt liked then why did he get two terms?
I have always supported President Bush and I'm thankful for the amazing work he has done in the USA and abroad. I've always been proud to have voted for a man with such high ideals. I'm proud to have voted for a man who is in touch with the small towns in America. Freedom, safety, human rights and dignity have been been pillars in his presidency. President Bush is still a human being - with weaknesses and stregthes. Why can't we as a nation support citizens that are willing to lead our great country and treat them with the respect they deserve? I have never doubted that President Bush sincerely cared about citizens, soliders and doing what was right; for that I'm still proud.
Reach across the isle WTF when under his watch the GOP leaders threatened the " nuke Option" if the dems didn't go along how would they like it now if those rules they threatened with then were in play NOW yeah he reached acrossed to slap the dems faces he and the GOP thought the DNC was done but when you act as he and they have the last 8 yrsthis is what you get .
I can only hope this country can recover from this man's inaction. Things will only get much worse long before they start improving. I don't believe God could straighten this disaster out. This clown, his adminiatration, and the republican party have almost destroyed this country. The people in this adminiatration should be in jail. The people in this country who don't understand this have drank the coolaid. These same folks will be tring to pick the next adminiatration apart.Remember God could't get this country back on track. If they believe in miracles they should hope for one. These same people are always saying how smart the American people are.The people who voted for this man twice are not smart enough to be a guest on the Jerry Springer show.
No other president thought so less of Americans as he has done. Because of him "For The People' turned into 'for individual pockets''
It was him , just yesterday i commented on, that said he didn't care what American people thought of him.
I agree that Bush did his best to protect the country. His reliance on Cheney and Rumsfeld was his biggest failure. He should have sacked Rumsfeld after the first year, and listened to his generals. I think he did his best and came up short. Sad for him, the country, and the world. I think this is the way history will judge him.
OMG! You are still blaming it on Clinton after all these years? I'd guess your IQ is just about 100 pts. below Bushes' or you are one of the blind Republicans who cannot think for your self, or have an original thought outside wht the Republician party. Sheesh, you wouldn't know a total screw up if it jumped up and b it you in the a$$.
By the way, Where the hell is Cheney? I guess he couldn't stand the criticism and went into hiding months ago. Seriously, where has he been? I think he is in some hospital on life support. I guess now they can pll the plug on another lying, inept, theiving Republican.
I said when he started, yes started, this war that it would become another Viet Nam. I was wrong, it's way worse than Viet Nam.
And he did squat to protect the USA. All he did was send our military over there to be murdered.
I thank God he is finished. Now will he please go back to Texas and do what he does best; ride on a horses a$$ like he is.
Bush and company ALLOWED 9/11 to happen and then reaped benefits from the aftermath for their friends in the war and rebuilding business while trying to come off as the great savior and protector....what a crock. Short of Pearl Harbor no other President has EVER allowed American soil to be so desicrated.....if Bush's mission was to bring America to her knees while profitting from it he did a great job....there is no excuse for what he allowed to happen to our country......any other President and vice President would have been impeached long ago. It all happened on a Bush watch and under his complete control so all the blame should lie on his shoulders....................the Republicans would demand nothing less from a Democratic President. Good riddence to bad rubbish.
What planet are you on? there is a difference in "blind hatred" and disgust for poor performance.
We can only hope with both houses under GOP rule from 94 until 2 years ago..
As well as Executive..which they were a rubberstamp for...That the GOP will not regain any power for at least 20 years
You've never heard any propaganda you didn't believe. That's the nice version...
You must be either brain-damaged or brain-washed. Were it not for the media and other curbs on this past eight years we'd be in an even worse position today...and a worse position is difficult to fathom.
Have you ever noticed the radical wrongs blame everything on the liberal media? Their GODS Limball and O Rippe spew hate.
You go John--you speak the truth and those of us not drinking the Kool Aid understand.
I agree with John's comments. Lot of information was kept from the America public with one-sided negative comments/news by the secular media which help the enemy/terrorist. Try listening to Christian News on TV and Radio, you will get more information regarding the total picture. This country was in trouble long before Bush came on the scene. This country was living with the Credit Fairy and an hysterical Wall Street with Greed everywhere. Freedom is not FREE. Check your history books, (the ones where the truth has not be deleted as they are now in our schools and libraries/news media) since this country began. The news has been directed to suit the political correctness...which is lying and omission. What ever happened to truth and good moral judgement? Right is wrong and wrong is now right? This is insanity! This life is not Burger King, have it your way. We are a sinful nation and we are paying for it! May God have mercy on our souls.
Hey Leftist Lefty Left Coast Lefter (or whatever your name is)
We have a nation which is pretty close to being split down the middle between Reps & Dems...
But 80% of all the media outlets are either totally liberal or mostly biased toward the Left (Fox is the only conservative news out let, and even they have Libs like Alan Colms with Hannity) and Hollywood is 99.9% (with the exception of Rhinos like Arnold Schwarzenneger) Ultra-Leftist.
Many Americans have had so much Leftist propoganda impregnated into their brains that they can only give birth to liberal ideas. Since Vietnam the Left in this nation has been willing to see their fellow Americans slaughtered without a swift response...and all for political reasons. Pretty disgusting.
Looking back on it 20 years from now it will be obvious that Bush HAD to kick the crap out of the muslims, otherwise they would kill even more Americans and others around the world than they already have!
I've had a sixteen year stomach ache beginning with "W's" defeat of Ann Richards for governor of Texas. I am starting to feel really good about our country again. George W. has been either drunk or in over his head ever since his Daddy bought him his first job. It is pitiful and painful and outrageous and finally, good ridance! I think this nation and the world is going to be shocked at the things they pulled while holding office. We have seen only the tip of the Bush iceburg. He thought he was being cool, but he didn't have a clue how far and wide he was being used by monied interests beyond his mental grasp. He is a fool, but he was as deceptive as anyone in his shallow way. I only hope he can experience 1/1000th of the pain and grief and suffering that he has caused others. That is, if he ever gets that "Silver Boot" out of his mouth. Ever notice that no one else in the Bush family doesn't have any hint of Texas accent?
Can not really comment on CV Smiths intelligence, but her post is alot more intelligent than yours.
Bush says God talks to him, little does he know it was the Devil in his ear the last 8 years.
just as lame as the commander in chief Bull6hitting his way into the white house the last 8 years.
The reason the Bush's do not have a Southern accent is because they are not from the South. George W was born in New Haven, CT to a very wealthy family. He was not accepted into a private high school in Texas so attended one in Andover, Mass. He was not accepted into UT Law so instead attended Harvard after Yale. Yale, mind you, is in New Haven, CT where his grandfather was a Senator. His entire life has been bought for him including his failed Presidency. If the American public can't see that his administration was rooted in greed and corruption, then we are all blind. It does not take a bright person to understand that these terrorists did not attack because of our "Western" ways, but that our greed infested Oil Companies are pilfering what they consider to be holy land. I expect our Nation would react as adversely had the same been done to us.
Have you ever noticed that most responses are from Liberals? Do you know why?? It's because they have plenty of time to B_TCH since they don't bother to have jobs. Thank you, Liberals, for your lack of contribution. If you'd speak as much as you contribute to the success of this country, we would really appreciate it - the silence would be wonderful!
Liberal have plenty of time to bitch because we finish working at a decent hour. We are not idiots like conservatives and need two jobs to pay the mortgage.
'The worst US president'
A professor who's considered one of the country's leading experts on US politics has ranked George W Bush as the worst US president in history. The best: Abraham Lincoln.
The proffessor, who has followed American politics most of his career, has just written a book about all the US presidents. Aftenposten's weekly magazine A-magasinet asked Moen to choose who he thinks are the five best presidents and the five worst.
Two members of the Republican party landed as both the worst and the best presidents. Bush, in Moen's opinion, is the worst.
"His administration stands for a dangerous blend of arrogance and ignorance," claiming that Bush has lacked an ability to listen to and cooperate with other heads of state, and with the US Congress.
Moen cited the invasion of Iraq, the resulting chaos that has erupted in the country and the intelligence reports that Bush's basis for the invasion (alleged weapons of mass destruction) didn't exist. Bush also defied international opinion on a host of other issues, from the Kyoto agreement to rules for an international court, and his tax measures have widened the gap between rich and poor.
A federal budget surplus inherited from the Clinton administration has turned into a huge deficit and now the US is widely believed to be heading into a recession. Bush's approval ratings are currently at a low point in the US, but Bush himself has indicated that he doesn't care about his legacy.
The Norwegian professor's favorite president is Abraham Lincoln, also
a Republican, who insisted on a government "of the people, by the
people and for the people," and who rose from a poor background to
save a nation that had descended into civil war.
Im a US Army Soldier and most of you in this comment thread are just pure Idiots talking about needless deaths for one. Whats needless about Defending your Country, just say thank you , your selfish!. If your to much of a coward to be a US Soldier than you willl never comprehend our service, and the Honor it gave me to serve (127th MP CO!!). Some of you comment on the credit crisis and your idiots as well. The credit crisis is from all you neutoric showboats who bought something they can't afford and now make the tax payers bail you out, you should of been more responsible and when the bubble hit and you cant pay your house payment because you were to stupid or lazy to read what you signed!
Someone commented that Bush gets a swanky house, secret Service and all the rest....Yeah so did "Stain on my dress" Clinton, every ex president gets YOU IDIOTS!Clinton could of prevented 9-11 and DIDNT(9-11 commission report!). HELL Yes Americans got their money's worth....no attacks,Stimulus check (which Nobama WILL not come threw with his as soon as Bush's tax cuts expire!)
And someone posted that Bush is going to live in a Gated community no minority could ever afford...Hum....intereting, where does Jessie Jackson, or Rev. Sharpton live? If your a lazy uneducated minority your right, you probably wont live where W or Bill CLinton lives...maybe you should't be so lazy , get off welfare, stop asking the Government for a handout (which I have to pay...)get a job and you can live where you want...its people that say these stupid things that make this all about race...and lets be real, Nobama only got elected because the blacks came out from everywhere to pay back whitty for all the bad bad bad things we have done to them ....welfare, WIC,Subsidized medical, healthcare, housing...yeah things have been realllll tough for the lazy minority collecting all my taxpayers dollar. Nobama is the biggest joke...and were about to see him back pedal on all the used carsalesmen lines he used to get his votes....with the help of ACORN as well. Funny here in San Diego, the local news asked a young black kid how many times he was registered to vote, he said 117 times, ACORN said "well, we only have him down 17 times!!" in the end Nobama is a Socialist....and we are all in deep.....well you know.
Please learn to spell if you're going to write this much nonsense.
"Come THREW..."? It's come through.
"Whats" It's what's.
"Could of"? It's could have.
"Whitty"? Whitey.
And the fact that you admit you are racist by writing: "...tough for the lazy minority collecting all my taxpayers dollar...." ices it.
We need to invest more money in education and freeze military spending. It's time to leave Iraq and teach our soldiers how to spell before they humiliate us any further.
The country is hurting; the economy is hurting; our infrastructure is hurting; our factories are gone; medical and college tuition costs are soaring; foreign countries own our nation. Is Bush hurting? NO! He bought a swanky house in Texas; his medical coverage and pension will be there for him. He will have Secret Service protection. AND, oh yes, he will have some very rich neighbors, in a gated community. Will he know what the average American is going through? Heck no!
How can you fault Bush for his salary, medical coverage, and Secret Service protection? He was fairly elected to his position, and he will receive all of the things that other presidents before him have received, and what Obama will receive in 4 years. You may be able to blame him for some things, but you CANNOT be angry because he will have a nice house and Secret Service. He has spent 8 years dealing with criticisms from angry people like you; he at least deserves a nice "retirement," if not for him, then for Laura.
But is all of this his fault? He certainly did not make me get into a house I can't afford, or use credit cards that drove me to bankruptcy. Our country's financial woes start with each of us first, I would never blame someone for decisions I've made.
Yes, fairly elected. You can say whatever you want to about the 2000 election, but let's not forget that he was re-elected in 2004, and there was no question in that race. So, whatever you may think about the 2000 election, he won in 2004 fair and square.
I am not blaming him for his salary, medical coverage, free digs at the WH etc. But did the American people get their money's worth?
Well I dont think spending $160 million to inagurate that dumbass ass for a 4 year term, liberals are stupid. When he raises taxes I will have to layoff 12 people to stay afloat. Thank god I wrote down the 15 cars in the parking lot that had Obama stickers on them because they will be the first to go...
No... you've got it all wrong... LOL... once Obama gets in the world is going to be PERFECT... LOL... (passing the kool-aid)
bsz - yes, most of this current economic mess is W's and his admin's fault. And clear that idiotic Gramm predatory borrower crap out of your pea-brained head. The predatory lenders, brokers, real estate industry drove this mess, making a quick buck for themselves while imperiling America. They created the conditions for it, then preyed on the unsophisticated masses to generate the mortgage instruments and transactions that tallied up their commissions. You must be the type that cons a retarded girl into sex, then afterwards claims it was all her own fault.
you would honestly fire people because of how they voted?? amazing. the real problem isn't what dubya, or any other pres. has done...the problem is that we, as americans voted them into office, and allowed them to stay there. from the bottom up, it's OUR country, and whether or not we agree with the current administration, we, the people, are ultimately responsible for their presence in office. let's get over ourselves, and start acting like american citizens, or someone will will soon have their hands on our right to screw up, act like idiots, and "grade" our presidents.
"personal responsibility" is rapidly dying in this country. Too many people would rather look to the govt than take responsibility for themselves...
MCM-528705 SAID:
He bought a swanky house in Texas; his medical coverage and pension will be there for him. He will have Secret Service protection. AND, oh yes, he will have some very rich neighbors, in a gated community. Will he know what the average American is going through? Heck no!
MCM lets be factually correct for a president that has failed the american public...He will live in a "GATED COMMUNITY" that until 2006 had a policy that "no minority will or can buy a house in this area....but where else would he live since he only cares for people that look like......??????
MCM:
Do you think he should share his wealth with you? It is obvious that you are upset that he has more than you. I am not saying this to get a rise from you but to ask you a question, why should you care? I don't care what my neighbor has. I don't care if my friends make more than I do. If I want what they have, I will work for it. Stop complaining will you?
Bush was not fairly elected he stole both elections and it's been proven.

AMY GOODMAN: So, explain what this case is all about and exactly what Mike Connell has been doing over these last years. What does it mean to be Karl Rove’s IT guru?
MARK CRISPIN MILLER: Well, the lawyers in the case refer to him as a high-IQ Forrest Gump, by which they mean that he seems to have been present at the scene of every dubious election of the last eight years. We’re talking about Florida in 2000. We’re talking about Ohio in 2004. We’re talking about Alabama in 2002. He seems to have been involved in the theft of Don Siegelman’s re-election for governor. There’s some evidence that links him with the Saxby Chambliss-Max Cleland Senate race in Georgia in 2002. To be Karl Rove’s IT guru seems to have meant basically setting it up so that votes could be electronically shaved to the disadvantage of the Democrats and the advantage of Republicans.
AMY GOODMAN: What do you mean, “electronically shaved”? I mean, you’ve got all these precincts all over Ohio. They’re counting up their votes. What does he have to do with this?
MARK CRISPIN MILLER: Well, specifically, there’s a computer architecture setup called “Man in the Middle," which involves shunting the election returns from, you know, the state in question—in this case, Ohio—shunting them to a separate computer elsewhere. All of the election returns in Ohio in 2004 went from the Secretary of State’s website—this is Ken Blackwell—to a separate computer in a basement in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which was under the control of another private company called SMARTech.
So we have now two private companies: GovTech Solutions, which is Connell’s company, SMARTech, which is run by a guy named [Jeff] Averbeck. And the company—the third private company that managed the voting tabulators in Ohio was called Triad. All three of these companies worked closely together on election night in Ohio in 2004. It turns out that the state’s own IT person was sent home at 9:00 p.m. They said, “Go ahead. Go home. We’ll take care of this.” So that this trio of highly partisan and, let me add, Christianist companies basically took over the whole—
AMY GOODMAN: What do you mean, “Christianist”?
MARK CRISPIN MILLER: Well, they’re radical theocratic activists, particularly—particularly Triad and SMARTech. You know, they are fervently anti-choice.
Ever hear of ACORN? Corruption and vote stealing happens on BOTH sides... anyone who thinks otherwise is being naive...
BWAHAHAHAHAHA Acorn is your excuse?!!

Greg Palast on Vote Rigging and Suppression Ahead of the 2008 Election
TOVA WANG: This idea of massive in-person polling place fraud on Election Day is just an absolute myth.
GREG PALAST: The bipartisan team found Democrats were right to worry that legitimate voters were being excluded, but by the time Bush’s chairwoman published the report, the experts’ conclusions were turned upside-down.
TOVA WANG: They left out a lot of the information that we provided regarding voter intimidation and vote suppression. They left out—edited out a number of things that could be perceived as critical of the Department of Justice’s handling of voter intimidation cases.
GREG PALAST: US law permits political party workers to go right into the polling stations and challenge voters when they show up to vote. Experts fear this could lead to intimidation of legitimate voters. Despite the election experts’ views, Republicans demanded new grounds for challenge, they said, to stop Democrats cheating.
.
.
.
.
.
DAVID IGLESIAS: Over 100 complaints we investigated for almost two years. I didn’t find one prosecutable voter fraud case in the entire state of New Mexico.
GREG PALAST: So the Bush administration fired him.
Not prosecuting innocent people led to your removal?
DAVID IGLESIAS: Yeah. I mean, they wanted some splashy pre-election indictments that would scare these other—these alleged hordes of illegal voters away. They were looking for politicized—for improperly politicized US attorneys to file bogus voter fraud cases.
You had better look at the Democratic criminals in the Senate that directly caused this economic issue. Do you think THEY are hurting?? How friggin moronic and blind can you be?
Socialism may be the only cure for what the Bush family has done to this great nation.
General responses to the babble on this thread:
Bush defended freedom. Socialism historically is not the answer. This nation has lost its will to be better than anyone else. No government program or bailout will ever fix that. Lincoln spoke of a "new birth of freedom". We need a "new birth of excellence". We must remember hard work and an undying commitment to doing things better than anyone else set us apart from the rest of the world. It brought us to the "Great American Century". How quickly it evaporates when corporate exec worry more about their perks, Wall Street more concerned with takeovers, main street more worried about handouts and bailouts and a government system (both sides) inciting elements of class envy to keep hold of power.
In my lifetime, Carter (although an honest guy) had been the worst president until now. George W. Bush has been by far the worst president we've had in the 53 years I've been alive.
Here's one thing that Bush got right that nobody seems to ever mention:
The global fight against AIDS. Millions of people in Africa are alive because of Bush's PEPFAR program. IT seems to be the only continent where the vast majority opinion approves of Bush's performance.
Give the man some credit where it's due (AIDS), and criticize him where he got things wrong (Afghanistan, Iraq, economy, etc...)
I've got nothing against charity but it seems to me he could have spent that money right here at home on some of the needs of the AMERICAN people. He has given away wayyyy to much of our money. We need someone to focus on US instead of the rest of the world!
What we are seeing is all damage control when now it seems like GW is concerned about his legacy! Sure in 8 years its an ill wind that doesn't blow someone some good. As far as combating aids in Africa goes his wife put him up to that.
I'm just hopeful that the collective liberal orgasm over the Obama election will fade over time.. and that people will eventually see him for what he is... a Socialist... a nice Socialist... but a Socialist nonetheless...
Matt - yes we already have a welfare system that takes my tax money and gives it to Wall Street and oil companies. And now my tax money is going to TARP to pay off their credit cards for their spas and golf courses, and ensuring their bonuses for such great work they did for their companies.
Bush bashing is here to stay - he's a failure, he's done tremendous damage to America - and nothing you say will change that - it's just you and your ilk hurting America even more.
Matt surf1700....it's piece, not peace. And I believe "alreayd" is spelled already. Maybe a few more hours of night school.
Idk, call me crazy, but, I guess it was too much to ask that maybe he DO SOMETHING about the welfare system. Don't just bitch about it, do something. You know, his job.
I don't need him to pay off my credit cards, but it would have been nice to have had a president that didn't lie to you. A president that didn't create something that didn't exist just for his own self importance. I will never forget, after 911 when they started talking about Iraq. He stood there, leaning on the fireplace and looked us in the eye and said "this is the guy that tried to kill my daddy", talking about sadam. And when he said that, I thought OMG, he's going to go. THAT is the reason we went into Iraq. It had everything to do with his father and absolutely NOTHING to do with WMDs that he knew didn't exist. He saw an opportunity to go back there and he took it, no matter what the cost. And it is such a shame, because the whole world was behind us after 911. It could have been awe-inspiring, but his arrogance took us to Iraq.
And, no, I'm not in the military and I'm not in office, I am a US citizen and I have every right to question my president and my congress (which was also led by Republicans until only two years ago), so for 6 years he basically had full power and so much opportunity right in front of him, but, he chose to think only of himself and his big business buddies.
And let's not forget, his presidency didn't begin on Sept. 12th. He was in office for almost a year before 911. But he and his staff chose to ignore everyone who was trying to warn them, just like he ignored the victims of Katrina. I mean, it would have been nice for him to at least act like he gave a damn.
And you can't blame 911 on Clinton. The buck stops with each president. Terrorists attacks had been going on long before Clinton. How soon we forget about Beirut during the Reagan years (there was another I can't think of right now, too). Yes, terrorism kept esculating as the years went by, but they chose not to listen to Clinton's admin and to not look at what was right in front of them, when they were handed memos that said it in big bold letters. He just couldn't put his pride down. He still hated Clinton for beating his father and he refused to listen to anything he or his staff had to say. Kinda like an 10 year old kid.
Bush and his cronies are arrogant liars, who were there to help themselves and their buddies; and they will go down in history as arrogant liars, who were only there to help themselves and their buddies.
I just wish he would leave Texas, too. Everything was so nice here, until he showed up.
Of course he lended help to Africa (which I am in support of), but I believe it to be a selfish move for political and financial gain. See below, link: ()
"Also the bases in Djibouti and Senegal are strategically place to protect US oil interests. Djibouti is located at the narrow Bab el Mandeb Strait at the entrance of the Red Sea, at the "world's busiest shipping lanes and close to Arabian oilfields," according to the CIA. Senegal, at the West African coast is strategically placed in a region with intensive oil explorations, which the US hopes may become a new major oil supplier within some years.
In North Africa, often considered "the backyard" of the European Union, US military presence is still more limited but is in many ways covered by NATO cooperations. The US however has developed a close military and intelligence cooperation with several North African countries, in particular Morocco and Egypt. Cooperation with Algeria and Tunisia is also improving.
In addition to this new strategic network of flexible bases, the Pentagon is known to have signed a large number of military pacts with governments all over Africa during the last years. These include oil producers such as Gabon and Mauritania, but also less significant resource owners such as Guinea Conakry and Rwanda. The US has indeed developed into the principal military partner of most African countries, displacing ex-colonial powers."
Perhaps he should have sent those with AIDs to Iraq to fight. Kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. Most with AIDS are going to die anyway, just think of the money the country would have saved, instead of creating thousands of widows and orphans. Then there are those serving in prisons with life sentences. He should have sent them too. Then look at all the money the country would have saved.
OOOO I can feel my ears startingburn already with that comment.
Bush's policy in Africa is like everything else about him - a FRAUD!. His policy was that no organization that promotes birth control can receive any support from the US, which means no condoms which means continued spread of AIDS which means more sales for his owners in the pharmacutical industry who provide treatment (NOT cures) for the millions of people who get AIDS because they could not get condoms!
Kahsahndra,
You took the words right out of my mouth!! Tens of millions of dollars to treat those infected with HIV/AIDS but a big fat ZERO on any form of prevention (i.e. condoms). And there is no mention anywhere that much of the money and/or drugs provided throughout Africa go unused (and ultimately wasted, the funds must be used within certain time frames and the drugs, very expensive drugs, have expiration dates). In some parts of Africa, the Aids epidemic has been brought under control, not due to anything Bush has done, there has been much aid given to Africa in the last two decades. These regions do not have people dying from AIDS, they have men, women and especially CHILDREN dying from not having clean drinking water or the simple fluids they need when they have dysentery. IV fluids for adults and something as simple as Pedialyte for children. And they cannot use any of the unused funds earmarked for AIDS, that they DON'T need for IV fluids and Pedialyte to save the lives that are being lost in alarming numbers. Great AIDS program, huh?
I just watched Bush give his final address and if I didn't just purchase a new flat screen I would hve kicked in the screen. Bush couldn't get out of our faces fast enough. What a moron. History will treat him with deep hatred and distain until his demise. I know I will and I will pass that piece of history to my grandchildren and hopefully great grandchildren.
You would have kicked your TV in? LOL.... How about directing some of that "rage" at members of Congress...
And I bet you beat your children when they talk back to you too don't you?
...
...
Three strikes. Matt surf1700 banned for violating #1 of the Code of Honor. If you reregister, follow the rules.
((You would have kicked your TV in? LOL.... How about directing some of that "rage" at members of Congress))
Again Paul--well said....Congress' approval rating is in the single digits--and oh, lest we forget, that started about the same time Nancy Pelosi "Peter Principled" to the helm--and that woman is about as elitist liberal as they come. Yet, do the Katie Couric and her liberal media colleagues remind of us of that daily? Hmm...?
It's selective reporting....the media is in love with Obama and they'll report whatever makes him look like a God. Bushes had dogs in the White House for years--I didn't see friggin' Today show segments on that. Laura Bush is a class act--yet Michelle Obama is getting three times the press---and she just recently became "proud of her country".
I only wish if the country didn't want to vote for a candidate like they do American Idol contestants--not talent, just popularity.
That anyone, eight years into this, could possibly believe that somehow there was a "liberal media plot" to make Bush look bad is so ludicrous as to leave me gasping in disbelief. He didn't need anyone or anything to make him look bad...he did a fine job of that all by himself. I will say, though, that I don't hate him...why should I? That would require some emotional energy that I wouldn't waste on this simpleton. Face it, he was used and used and used by some of the most evil men and women to crawl out of the cesspool that was his administration. We may never recover, but I still like to hold out a faint hope...God can make some good come out of the most despicable situations.
He attacked Iraq giving Saddam 48 hours to leave, then lobbed a bomb at him in 42 hours.
He attacked Saddam to gain Daddy's approval.
When he attacked Iraq I told a co-worker W has just morally and financially bankrupted this country. Shamefully, I was right.
W. never won an election, it was the Republican MACHINE that placed him where they could control what happened. Cheney pulled the strings that made his lips move. Imagine that he picked his campaign coordinator to be his V.P.
NO ONE needs to be kind to a man who did the things this one did to all of us. It doesn't matter what people said, he was always so proud to never read a paper to find out what was going on in the country, same as daddy had no idea what it actually was like in the checkout line of a grocery store.
Everyone seems to forget that Ben laden also said he want to see this country financially bankrupted . seems the only one won won after 8 years is Ben Laden
CarrieJo, you sure got that right. Every time I go through the cattle gates at an airport, I think about the fact that the terrorists have won. They disrupted our way of life and cost us billions.
Let's not forget that Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush were the ones who armed Saddam Hussein.
I don't know how the historians will rate Bush - but in my book he's already earned the dubious distinction of being the WORST president America has ever had.
George Bush has precipitated the fall of the once great United States of America, started by our foresighted forefathers, who are now rolling over in their graves. What a shame. He has singularly in 8 years shattered the American dream for all the world. He has committed the lives of our brave men and women in uniform to a false war, benefitting no one, and harming all. George Bush is no less a murderer than if he had pulled the trigger and exploded the roadside bombs himself. God Bless Barak Obama. I hope and pray that he will be able to rekindle America, its people, and the people of the world. Bush did his best to extinguish the flame of democracy and freedom. May he be damned in hell for all eternity. God bless the United United States of America.
And Obama is going to do any better? I will give him a chance...only one chance. So far the only thing I see in this great nation for the next 4 years is socialism! He better prove me wrong!
Chris Mathews is nothing more than a hate monger.............In a couple of months you will all wish George W. Bush was still in office!
are u serious. your iq needs checking try it at the mental hospital and see if you reach 49. bush is a idiot and has ruined this country and caused over 4000 needlessly deaths. he still doesn't get it neither do u.
He couldn't state facts. All he did was spout opinion with such hatred that I could see the spittle at the corners of his mouth.
anyone who believes W was a good President - in any way - IS NUTS! He's dertainly getting a fair assessment here, although I'm suprised his negative percent isn't quite as high as it should be - 75% neg is way too low.
You have got to be joking. In a few more months, the MAJORITY of Americans will have forgotten about the man. We will never forget the damage he's done to our nation. Stop deluding yourself.
Matt, do you have your prayer rug ready to move. I suppose you will be placing out side his house in Tx so you can properly worship him.
Matt surf1700: I'm so happy to see you passed English 101 at Redneck Tech and so sorry that you can't carry on a dialog without becoming nasty. For years I was a proud Republican, holding my head high even through the Nixon years. However, that has changed over the last eight years, just as the proud and prosperous USA has changed, and all the downturn and humiliation can be laid at GW's door.
The only people who will wish for W the dummy back will be his fellow dummies.
Is Bush not the one who deregulared the banks which is what caused this wonder cluster f*ck? So yes, this whole fiasco can be directly linked to Bush's stupid ass. If he wouldn't have been so damn concerned with his Republican agenda and personal profit then we wouldn't be suffering through the worst financial crises since the depression. If you don't believe that then perhaps you should remove your head from the orafic it is crammed up and take a look around.
Let's not forget one thing.. Although bad decisions have been made, our country has not been attacked since 9/11/01. While we are hurting as a country, think of how much worse it would be if we were attacked again. I think Bush at least deserves our thanks and gratitude for that... And I voted for Obama!
umm....9/11/01 happened under Bush's watch. He had been given plenty of warnings from military officials AND the outgoing Clinton administration that bin Laden was someone to watch out for. But did he listen? noooo, he just ignored it all...which is why that morning he looked as stunned as anyone could possibly look while sitting in front of a bunch of elementary students.
And Katrina? So much for our brave, loyal Commander-In-Chief. While thousands of people were suffering terrible losses from the hurricane, he was out cavorting with favorite GOP links. If you don't believe me, look it up in the news archives of any paper. He recently defended his administrations' handling of the hurricane by saying he possibly could have landed Air Force One in New Orleans...what the hell kind of good would that have done anyone?
This man is absolutely one...INCOMPETENT...FOOL.
Our country WAS attacked under Bush's watch...You can't start the clock on Sept 12th, 2001....They had warnings but chose to ignore them. They had their eyes set on destroying social security until Sept 11th happened.
It is long overdue for this MORON to leave. He was nothing but disaster.
Yes, W = Worst Ever. Far more damaging than Nixon, Clinton, or Carter - though they made egregious errors too. Nothing is worse than taking a nation to war under false statements. We've had 4,000+ killed, and Bush will never know their pain. Goddamn him and his administration. May they all burn in hell.
I just watched the Boy Idiot. True to form, he smirked right up through his last word.
What a loser.
Katrina, 9-11, not Bushes fault. One man cannot trash our country, only it's people can. And unfortunately, our country's people are doing a good job of that right now.
Very insightful, one of the few comments here I agree with, thanks.
I must interject slightly - although Pres. Bush didn't "cause" Katrina to destroy New Orleans, his appointment of Brown to head FEMA was simply giving a favor to a buddy who had no business being in that position. I also don't believe he was the "cause" of the banking collapse, but the policies of his administration and the runaway right-wing legislation (deregulating the banking and financial industry) during the early 2000's did open the door for the corruption and ulitimate fallout. Bush will be seen as a presidential failure; a man who was in over his head from day one, who vowed to govern from the center only to veer to the right. I hang my head and sigh when I think of the hope we had in 1999, the sadness but unity we had in 2001, and the empty pockets we have now. Here's hoping the next 4 years can start to right the ship.
What specifically do you mean by deregulating the banking system? It has been deregulated, but I am not sure that has occurred in the last 8 years (at least entirely) - it has been going on for some time, to include pushing banks to lend to some marginal customers. The separation of commercial and investment bankng occurred during the 1990's I believe. Honestly, what specific action are you referring to?
Racehorse...barney frank started the deregulaton of the banking industry but lets be real the GOP does has the policy of less regulation (probably to give money to the majority of people...yeah right?). The gop and its blind followers like to say bush protected us after 911 while ignoring the FACT that it occured during his watch and he IGNORED WARNINGS then capitilized on the anger of americans to 1. start a war that he plan to start from the beginning, 2. Put money in his friends pockets who make bombs and profit from rebuilding...ie Halliburton...Cheney....KBR....facts not conspiracy, 3. utilized the threat to get reelected, take away rights (here and abroad), 4. make the rich richer.
Make no mistake the GOP and the democrats are to blame for our situation for today but he had a GOP congress that spent and spent while the democrats hid their head in the sand quietly. Bush in my book will replace nixon as the best president (sarcasm but mistrue to borrow bushes bushism). It is amazing how intelligent conservatives can't see the transparent blanket he, republicans, and the extreme right pulled over their eyes. NWO is looking more of a realistic conspiracy theory after these 8 years.
STOP TRYING TO RE-WRITE HISTORY
CHIMP and the repigs did this MESS.
Our grandchildren and their children will be paying off the debt that he has incurred.
Really...your man Obama and his cronies Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi seem to be doing quite well so far. $850B stimulus package. And Obama isn't even President yet. Oh, why does it seem like that stimulus package gets bigger every single day??? Guess Obama thinks we've got $$ lying around. Throw money at the problem. Only to twiddle it away and come crying back for more in 2 years when things aren't better.
This is money that we paid in. Money that will be paid back by us in the form of higher taxes. It seems like Obama thinks we have all this money lying around. He's spewing our money out of his butt and he's not even the POTUS yet. Don't blame Bush for the economy meltdown. Maybe look in the mirror a little bit. Americans should look in the mirror. We who have bought houses and cars we can't afford. We who can not pay back our debts. We who go crying to the Feds because we "made a boo boo" and over extended ourselves and need to be rescued. It's not Bush's debt. It's YOUR debt.
Oh and one more parting shot, don't call Bush an idiot. If he's an idiot, you are an idiot, because you guys are the one's that voted him in. TWICE.
God Bless W and may he have an enjoyable retirement, him and Laura. And thank you for keeping us safe.
I agree Dan...Personally I think those companies in trouble need to crash and burn...file for bankruptcy, re-organize and start over...we are throwing money away on an obviously faulty system. We can't keep borrowing money from other countries! We have never been in this situation before, but why are we repeating the same mistakes our fabulous Congress made only a year earlier? Why are we putting gas into a dead Pinto Station Wagon? The stimulus package passed last year was only a blip on the radar screen...It was a nice try (and provided a nice cushion in a lot of people's savings accounts) but what makes Obama think this new package will do any better? The brains of our financial system need to sit down and work this out...not some junior senator from Illinois.
Sorry Dan not everyone voted for this idiot twice and could see what bush actually was...deceptive. You seem to have a selective memory...."more people own houses" ie bush during the second term so yes he partially responsible for the mess just as barney frank ( with a gop congress- who promotes smaller govt when it suits them and they can fool gop fools..) Yes their were people who couldnt afford these homes and are paying for it now but lets not forget those that were selling the product in order to make a profit "by any means necessary". If we cant blame bush for the economy who should we blame....clinton or obama?? Up to today the only people who have benefited are the banks, paulson's wall street buddies, and car companies. And lets not forget the home owners....not the ones above but the ones that paid their mortgage and are losing or have lost equity regardless of the outcome. Thank god that this court elected president didn't "privatize social security" or america would need a new world for Depression.
Good Riddance President Bush please live a long life as the deceptive deeds that you have done to supposedly protect america will come out into the light. Just remember to take your sheet off when you leave your "exclusive" gated community in Dallas.
Spending... Seems like the shoe is on the other foot for Republicans and the Bush administation far exceeded the previous spending record for congress.. and thank you very much... left us with more than a trillion dollar deficet... and damaged economy. Obama has to clean up Bushes mess... it will cost a lot.
Comeone guys... tell us more how great Bush was. I want to hear more!!!
Matt, you've done nothing here but hide behind a sixth grade mastery of grammar, which for being such a cornerstone of your argument, you don't seem to carry out with much grace yourself. You can't defend Bush in any way besides calling his critics socialists. Furthermore, you seem to be passing judgement on the work ethic of total strangers on the internet, who, for all you know, may work harder then you could imagine. It's blatantly hateful and ignorant. LIberals are not by definition socialists, and socialists are not by definition averse to hard work.
Matt Surf,
You are the most vilest thing with all your name-calling and trashing others who don't agree with you....which I may point out, hold the vast majority in this post! Well guess what? You are a perfect example of someone seething with ignorance and hatred for his fellow man. You sound like a Nazi/facist. I'd take a shot and say you probably have very low self-esteem, so have to criticize others to make yourself feel superior. Anyway, if you are a "true " example of the party claiming moral majority and family values, all I can say is I'm glad I usually vote Democrat! You are a disgrace to your party.
There are those saying that hey it's all of our faults that we are in this mess. By first voting him in and secondly, not spending wisely. Well I voted against him...twice. I didn't buy a house in the last eight years, and we saved up money to buy a car outright rather than use credit and pay monthly. However, my family is still suffering from the credit crisis, because my husban's hours have been reduced due to lack of revenue. Of course I'm thanking my lucky stars that he hasn't been laid off! I fully blame those in government for getting us into this mess. The majority of American people are followers and follow the example of their leaders. Those leaders in Washington were spending freely and encouraging us to do the same. Both Republican and Democrat are to blame. Maybe if they had spent more time on important issues rather than renaming French Fries, we wouldn't be in as deep doo doo as we are now. And maybe if instead of fighting each other and acting like middleschoolers, we would also be in a better position.
When will this news organization wake up. They got there man Obama into the White House, and it is a shame that a news organization makes the news instead of reporting it. I think that Bush has had some set backs but so has any other president. He has done great work in Africa, rebuilding public school, and keeping the country safe. The media blames him for torture and all the problems with the economy however the President cant make people spend money. My only hope is that especially NBC treat the Obama with same way. I would much rather have some phones wiretapped then to go through another terrorist attack. I guess some people dont care that Americans were killed just as long as the terrorist are treated fairly. All the other news organizations will at least recognize the good things that Bush has done and the hard choices he made, NBC this is why you are the worst news company out there. Let it go u got your man.
President Bush did not need warrantless wiretapping to avoid 911.
All he needed to do was act on the reports given to him by the outgoing Clinton Administration.
Instead he made the number one item on his agenda 'get rid of Saddam'.
Oh! I'm sorry but Bush most certainly did not improve the public school system. Instead, he send out a bunch of standards that schools have to meet, underfunded it, and caused teachers to teach to the test. Also, there were no provisions made for children in special education, or children with english as a second language. No Child Left Behind is a collassal failure!
As for the terrorists, I do most certainly care that our fellow Americans were killed. However, we most absolutely cannot ignore our principles when it is inconvient. If we do so, the terrorists win. If we do so then our victory over them will be hollow because we ignored our principles with it became inconvient. In the War on Terror, we must especially cling to our principles because those very principles were essentially attacked. Those who wish us harm because of our way of life win if we abandon our beliefs in the basic rights that we have decided every human being deserves. When we torture, when we hold people indefinately with out hope of legal representation, or their day in court, we are sullying the great name of the United States of America. We have set for ourselves certain rules and have agreed to others for fighting a war, we must not ignore them. Just because they don't play by those rules dosen't mean that we get to do whatever we want too.
Please, dear God, NO MORE Southern Presidents for a while!!! Bush,Clinton,Carter......
Can we please let the rest of the Nation have a crack at it for a while?? Obama wasnt my first choice, but....
BUSH IS NOT SOUTHERN. Never has been, never will be, his FAKE southern is just another act, another LIE.
