Where is the proof..... he has not provided any .........
What a rip off!! This inauguration is costing $150million and the democrats raised hell about Bush's costing $40million............what's wrong with this picture!!! Obama is all about himself, he could care less about the blacks, whites and any other color! Starting Jan 20th will begin America's biggest downfall.
You may of been unhappy with Bush but we have not been attacked again since 9/11 just think about that!
The people of the United States elected him for President and paid for his Inauguration because we all deserve to live in a Country where all can be equal. He did not take nor receive cutbacks for his Inauguration!!!! As far as a downfall; your precious Mr. Bush led us to this downfall, where have you been? All of America have endured very, very tough times thus far; because of the rewards his friends have received on the sweat of hard working Americans.
We may not have been attacked again but why were we attacked in the first place, was it because Mr. Bush was making deals with Obama's family and then reniged on them. Please pick up a news paper or turn on CNN. Yes, he is America's sweetheart, because he's going to prove that all Americans deserve change and the right to be treated fairly.
I was raised that anyone who can point the finger at someone being racist is a person who practices such behavior.
I would like to hear the democratic party complain about the amount of money spent on this "coronation" It's typical democratic double standards. In fact, the entire election process was a farse - illegals voting, Acorn, etc. I didn't always agree with what Bush did, but I was always able to do so without being considered racist. Tomorrow a president is being sworn in who we won't be able to question, challenge, disagree with, etc. It will all be considered racist. Sharpton and Jackson will always find something to complain about, else they put themselves out of a job! I have NEVER been more concerned about a prospective leader as I am right now...five months as a Senator, and now the president... are you kidding me??? Shame on those voters who elected this farse into office. It would be different if he were qualified, and the presidential election rules of engagement were properly followed.
Amen to you Scooterbug. Your points are well understood.
"and they will vote themselves bread and circuses everytime."--Robert Heinlen
By the way--even my 6th grader gets it that a lot of voters gave Obama the same once over they would an American Idol contestant (probaby voted as many times, too).
I keep hearing the same BS over and over from Bush followers that he alone protected us after the 9-11 attacks because there has not been a terrorist attack on American soil since then. He was responsible for failing to protect the country before 9/11 in the first place. There were numerous warnings of an impending attack. Google "They knew but did nothing" you will find these other warnings]
"Bin Ladin Public Profile May Presage Attack" (May 3)
"Terrorist Groups Said Co-operating on US Hostage Plot" (May 23)
"Bin Ladin's Networks' Plans Advancing" (May 26)
"Bin Ladin Attacks May Be Imminent"(June 23)
"Bin Ladin and Associates Making Near-Term Threats" (June 25)
"Bin Ladin Planning High-Profile Attacks" (June 30),
"Planning for Bin Ladin Attacks Continues, Despite Delays" (July 2)
Then we hear his defenders say that there has not been an attack since 9/11. After the first WTC attack in 1993 there was not another attack on US soil for the remainder of the Clinton presidency. Clinton did not gut the constitution, launch an unnecessary war and make us one of the most hated nations on earth to do it. He did not cost us thousands of American lives and over a trillion dollars to do it. Clinton has his own failings he has yet to answer for but this bull that Bush has made this country safer has to end once and for all.
I won't even go into the economy and the politization of every branch of government over the last 8 years. George W. Bush was a failure on every level. Unfortunately for our country, our world, his powerful friends and family helped him fail upwards. His presidency will set the standard for failure as long as there is an United States of America.
History that I'll feel lucky to have played a part in and I wouldn't miss it. I will watch on TV and on-line at MSNBC.
I will be there in person. I don't have a ticket so not sure where I be standing just my present it's going to be historic event. I like to share my letter to you that I wrote for the Honorable Obama Family on November 14, 2008. Greeting OBama Family in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. God has truly blessed us this year with the First Black President in the White House...It took 44 years however you are here!
President-Elect Obama it's time for the United States to unite together as one. This is one of the most memorable and historic victories ever. I am doing a scrap book on Obama I am on vol 5 now this book is for my grand niece and nephews to look back on the year of 2008 and witness history at its finest.
We will continuously keep the Obama Family in our prayers and ask God to keep a shield around them. Citizens in America now understand what kind of mess our world is truly in,i.e. 8 years of the Bush Administration.
It will take time for President Obama to get the economy back on the right track however do not get frustrated...just BELIEVE and know change is HERE!. It could take our President-Elect two terms but I am certain his mission will be accomplished.
Let's keep our heads up to the Father and His Will be done not our will. In everything we do let's put God first and His will can make the difference in the White House.
I will be at the dentist because it is the only day my caregiver can rent a wheelchair van to get me there. It s(#&$!
I shall see glimpses of it online at work or at the break room as I'll be at work. I wish I could watch it live or at least on TV. But I'll have the whole event recorded on the DVR so I'll have the pleasure of viewing it later and keeping a copy for posterity as this is a historic epoch breaking moment of having the first colored American President in the history of this country. The USA will regain its position of being the GREATEST NATION ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH. AND YES I DID SAY GOD BECAUSE HE IS A BIG PART OF WHY OBAMA WILL BE PRESIDENT! HIP HIP HOORAY!
I'll be at a ball during the event (they'll have a wide screen TV showing it) and then i'll come home and crack open a bottle of wine to toast in our fresh new (and improved) President of the United States of America......
I'll probablywatch it on TV, but if not, then I'll see it online.
I would definitely go and take my 9 year old if I can find somewhere to stay! 8 years ago I took him (1 year old at the time), and my other son, (who was 10 at the time) because I wanted them to experience it. Little did I know that today, this HISTORIC moment would occur. Even though it looks like we might not make it, I'm grateful to have had the opportunity.
I would definitely go if I could find somewhere to stay! 8 years ago, I took my now 9 year old and other son who was 10 at he time, now 19 and in college, to Washington to experience an inauguration because I did not think that THIS DAY would come anytime soon. Little that I knew, that THIS HISTORIC MOMENT would only come 8 years later! I really want to be there, but very happy that I have had the opportunity to expose them to events like this.
I cannot believe the number of people who feel this Manchurian Candidate is the real deal.
Nothing against Barack Obama as a person (he seems likeable enough), but I can't become enthused by a politician who is nothing more than mainstream media darling. Just wait until you all see this "change". I for one am dreading Tuesday.....it's the beginning of the end of our great nation as I see it....if the media reported on the candidates in a fair a balanced way--rather than just reporting on what they wanted you to know....I dug deeper before I voted for any candidate--I wish I could say the same for many of my fellow voters.
You all voted for a "historic moment"---but I'm totally afraid of what that moment will lead to....the countries that seem all too happy about the results of our election--like Iran--are not necessarily interested in the best interest of the USA. And those of us who pay taxes, work for a living....cannot fathom....
When the honeymoon is over....meanwhile I just pray and hope for the best.
Great for your sediments, positive thoughts give positive results. Keep in mind, persons in the media are voters too. They will loose if this country is not successful.
Colleen, your comments are the main reason, "We Can Change. and have done so."
If you are dreading Tuesday to come, well, I don't need to spell the rest out, you know what to do.
Ola J--are you implying I should leave the country? Nah--I'll stick it out--if nothing else because I can continue to vote against your idea of change. Thankfully, we get to make that choice for president every four years. I learned that lesson from all of the President Bush haters I wished would leave the country like they promised.
Funny--if McCain were the one who was being sworn in tomorrow, a lot of people on this board who didn't believe in what he had to bring to the table would be looking at tomorrow with the same trepidation as those of us who question the abilities and proposed policies of this incoming president and see that, historic moment or not, we could be in worse shape than we are now.
Yes, President-elect Obama was elected to office. But not every person in this country thought he was the best choice (and I frankly don't care what a bunch of socialist, elitist European countries think, so world opinion isn't a factor)--in fact, 47% of the US population did not believe he was "the change" this country needed. Not everyone thinks he's the second coming of Christ as the media portrays it---that's my point. You act like it's an overwhelming majority that wanted Barack Obama in office--but 53% popular vote by most accounts is still pretty close to evenly divided.
Fact is--I am still entitled to my opinion--just like all of you who don't support President Bush or conservative politics are. I'm allowed to voice my concern--I might add in a much politer way than I see most liberals attack conservative views. What I find insulting is this whole cattitude of "you can't criticize our president" and "we're all about UNITING and HEALING" and "you're on board or you're out." Sorry--ain't buying the peer pressure.
Frankly, I feel really sorry for President-elect Obama as so many people are foolishly pinning all their hopes and ideals for CHANGE and UNITY on to him, not realizing that what they think he can do, and what he actually CAN do are two different things. People who think that President Bush created all of our problems, and that President Obama is going to just kiss those big boo-boos goodbye are the main problems. One man, one office is NOT the reason we're in the mess we're in right now, and the mere changing of the guard is not going to fix it--no matter what Kool-Aide the idiots in the media are trying to push.
You go ahead and pop open that bottle of champagne and celebrate tomorrow. Hold hands and sing Kumbuya for all I care. You got your "change". Let me know how that works out for you in a few years....
Meanwhile, I'll just hope and pray for the best....

Okay, I wholeheartedly voted for Obama, and am thrilled beyond belief that he's our new president, so I'm sure we could find a lot to disagree about. However, with that said, I agree with at least half of what you wrote here, and I'll bet we could find some stuff to agree on, too. I had to write to tell you that this revelation was quite a relief, after such an emotionally charged election. Crusing the politics sites (and even the supposedly non-political ones), I saw so much venom and...malice is the only word I can think of, and I just wasn't sure that our country could ever be put back together again. After reading your words here, I feel like we have...yes, here's that word...hope. I feel like I can agree to disagree with you, and neither of us will break - you seem strong enough, and I know that I am. Maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for choosing to disagree with us "lefties" (one of the nicer words I've heard in the last 6 months) in such a peaceful way.
I for one refuse to participate in the negative doomsday scare tactics that this country seems to relish these days. I intend to have a positive outlook and dont give a rats south forty who does not like it. I could not be happier with the changes that are going to happen on Tuesday. I am honored that I will be there and be a part of it.
We need some thing positive after years of bad government. America will be recognised as having another first, setting the example for other countries to follow. This is the free America I know, we will rebound ecnomically and be respected once again in the world. God Bless America.
I'll be watching it on TV live then well post out comments on RotaryCarClub.com
for all you RX-7 and RX-8 Rotary lovers!

Although I will be at work, I will watch it there on tv. Congratulations to President Barack Obama and his staff. My prayers are with you, your administration and your family. God be with you.

I'll be at work teaching school, along with the others. The faculty, staff and students are really looking forward to this historic moment. If we had the opportunity to attend trust me, we would be one of the millions viewing all of the events.
President elect Obama, and the first family, I'm so proud of them. I'm filled with tears of joy to see this moment take place. I hear so many voicing their opinion stating, oh! the journey will be tough for him, but they fail to realize he will not be walking this journey alone. This is a totally different man going into the oval office, who's beginning his journey with a vision, and will build an infrastructure with a plan, and he'll apply all of those components to develop a solution.
Sit back, and watch this anointed man, fulfill his task.
I work for a living so I'll probably just see what the MSM has to say about it.
Can' t do it, I just got my copy of Mario Cart on Wii....and plan to play it that day. I'm sure it will be a blast...have fun and keep warm for those of you that are making the journey.
There are numerous more important things to do such as, watch my pine tree grow, count the automobiles that have four tires rolling as they go by, counting the rocks in the field next door, and popping zits on strangers faces. Yes I just love Obama. There are more stupid people in this world then any time in history . . . Why isn't the press covering this story . . . oh, they are the creator and founder of politically ignorant people (liberals). A wonderful example of this is MSNBC. They spread more manure then all the dairies and slaughter houses in the entire USA! Just wait, when Obama can't save the world perhaps some people will realize how deceived they have been.
I'm so glad i'm not alone. Thank you Mr. Cola for being realistic.
I took the day off to watch and celabrate with friends and family. Wish I could have been there! I have been watching since the campaign and it fills my eyes with tears of joy, pride, love of God and country to see 'his story' unraveling before me. What a great journey for us all! God bless President Obama and his family and God Bless America.
