David DeVore put a home video of his 7-year-old son, high after a dental procedure, online and it became a YouTube sensation. Do you think this is all in good fun? Was it wrong for him to post this clip? Is he exploiting his son? Could there be consequences down the road? What do you think?
Should parents think twice before putting videos of their children on the Internet?

I understand the concerns, but I think I would have done the same thing. This is fun. A moment in time that if this happened to me as a child that I would love to share it w/ my children & laught w/ them. It's harmless.
As for placing children on u-tube, it depens on the situation. I thoroughly enjoyed this close-knit family sharing this moment. It made me laugh. Very cute - not harmful.
I agree completely. This was fun and people need to lighten up.
OMG! I don't believe all the hoopla over what was obviously a family joke. Lighten up people! There are too many other serious subjects out there to get upset about. (the price of gas increasing again for example). As for his parents exploiting him and the newspaper columnist wanting to get the Child Welfare agency involved: ARE YOU KIDDING ME! If that is the case, then every family member who has every submitted video footage to America's Funniest Home Videos should have Social Services called on them too. They did it also, and for the chance to win money!
Loretta, don't give anyone any ideas. Some people in this world have become so sensitive, they forgot what funny is.
This is the age of posting EVERYTHING online. The good thing about this video is that it is cute, and 100% natural of what happens when you go under. This isn't your 12 year old daughter posting herself in a skimpy outfit! And your right about the America's funniest home video, I remember some videos that are crazier than this video and people thought they were SO funny!
People are so sensitive these days, get off the computer at your 8-13 hour jobs or whatever that is making people so "shocked". It's like people are going backwards in society.
Sheesh, no fooling, lighten up, people! C'mon, Child Protective Services? For cryin out loud, it aint like they stuck a frikkin crack pipe in the kid's mouth and filmed the aftermath! I went through the same thing as a 14 yr old to get two wisdom teeth extracted, i can only wish my mom had a cell phone way back when to get it on vid so i could laugh about it now. You idiots that are saying David's dad did something wrong need to get your own life and pay attention to it, not to what other people are doing. It's no wonder things are so screwed up in this country, all the do-gooders have taken all the joy and tools parents had for properly raising a child. Spankings never hurt me as a child, did no irreperable harm, only taught me that doing wrong has consequences. Spank a child nowadays, and CPS takes them away, to put them in a foster home where they will grow up to be undisciplined, irresponsible wards of the system. WAKE UP!
I'm not sure why people keep commenting against these parents as if they meant to show this video to the world. Did any of you actually read the article? David (senior) clearly states that he only posted the video on youtube because of a high demand for the video amongst friends and family members, and he had intended for it to be private but failed to click the privacy button. By the next day, any thousands of people could easily have downloaded the video - before he ever realized his mistake.
This is clearly an accident that turned big for an innocent family. There is nothing wrong with people being able to see firsthand what the aftereffect of sedatives from surgery can be like. As posted elsewhere in this forum, his reaction was average and healthy.
Since David - the child in question - doesn't have a problem with the video, why should we? I think people these days just like to get worked up over anything they possibly can. Go punch a pillow and stop taking your frustration out uselessly on others.
I want some of whatever that kid was on.
Lighten up people. It is innocent and cute. People need to get up in arms about child abuse and homeless children, etc.
i agree 15000000000% it was ment to be a funny video and on youtube there is no privacy button so theres one point wrong two if your are going to make a big deal over something that we have alol had to undergo then your acting foolish and sopohomoric so i really think america needs to lighten up
One columnist said people shouldn't be showing kids on drugs, LOL, this kid came from the DENTIST and was under the DENTIST'S CARE, Moron! It's not like the parents gave the kid some LSD or Marijuana then taped him to see what the reaction would be! People DO need to lighten up and find more important things to be irritated or outraged about. LOL This was funny! SMILE!
Good fun. I would hope child welfare would have many more axes to grind as more and more children, some that I see daily, are in real need of help. Leave the family alone. THey did something for family to see, leave them alone. I would hope that those worried about children would help those that are in need not one that actually was able to go to the denitst. Oh my goodness! This will NOT follow him forever. People quickly forget and move on to the next big thing!
i have to agree... the "expert" who commented about "kids on drugs" really just skeeved me. "kids on drugs" certainly implies illicit drug use, not a legal, dentist-administered anesthetic. as far as exploiting the child: no one is making money off of this video; the parents simply wanted to share it with friends and family and it accidentally got made public. and even if they did want to make it public, big deal! the child is not in any danger, he is in the presence of his father... by the way he was seatbelted! yay dad! the parents who don't belt their kids in put them in more danger than this little boy ever was in the video...
it was all in good fun and people need to lighten up. do you know how many times i have come across videos of small children in the presence of drugs being smoked? they are the ones in danger! but does anyone make a big television production of it? nooo... people feed their animals booze b/c they think it's funny... do you see those videos being discussed on television? nope. get a grip, people. get some priorities.
I think this is horrible of the parents to post this.I am a Certified Dental Assistant and have 25 years experience in this field.Dentist and Assistants strive to make all procedures a pleasant experience .The parents are the problem. Now another child will see this or a parent and it will scare them they will think what are they doing to my child. It makes our job alot harder.I am sure the parents were told the child would be groggy after the appt.I do not think it is funny.I think parents are the problem to alot of issues today.Things like this are stupid and thoughtless As a mother I would be livid with my husband for filming this It is making fun of your own child.Poor child this will follow him forever due to his parents dumb mistake.
OMG shut up you tight ass.
You know nothing.
I could not disagree more with your rationale. I am an RN that recovers post surgical patients from deep sedation. People frequently mumble as they are going under and frequently become chatty as they "wake up". Most of the time it is completely incoherent. It happens all the time, and when you are first new to it, it can seems a bit strange. But the medical team is focused on the patients health, and mumblings are only paid attention to if they contain key words like pain. I am sure that this parent has NO experience with anesthesia. The fact that sticks out to me, is that this child had a completely normal reaction to what was obviously a sucessful sedation (bravo team!) given the comments he made. If nothing else, it reassures patients that they really will not remember the surgery, and it really will seem like the surgery took place in an instant. Those are the real fears that patients have undergoing surgery, not, will I say something silly when I am waking up. Now if you ask me should it have been published for the world to see out of respect for the feelings of the child. I would say it probably should not have been distributed outside the family/friends network. But honestly, I don't think the possible negatives would have ever crossed most parents minds at the time either. I would not judge him, because it could have easily been one of a million other healthy, well meaning, GOOD parents that just didn't see the reality that the web is forever. Give this guy and his family a break.
I had dental surgery for the first time 35 years ago. I said funny things as I was coming out of it and we talk about it even today. It was funny then and funny now. I was not tramatized by it. It was a learning experience. I would not hesitate to show the David video to a youngster to explain what might happen at dentist, just to show that everything will be fine afterwards. Don't call this exploitation - the parents were not expecting to gain anything from posting this video. And it is not an issue for Protective Services - they don't drug this kid every weekend and post the results; it was a one time event.
Who cares if your a dental assistant with however many years of experience, the fact of the matter is this video was funny and in no way put the kid in danger. And I don't see how you can compare an incident a couple years back, which was clearly due to malpractice on the part of the dentist, to David's successful tooth extraction. You need to take this video for what it is and not try to make drama where drama is not needed. The fact of the matter is, nobody is going to watch this video and make judgements on behalf of the dentist, his/her staff or proper dental care. Children are videotaped everyday doing embarrassing things and in no way affects them as they mature. All you are is ignorant and annoying.
Fortunately for the rest of the world those parents were such a uptight freak like our dental friend Lisa. The video is funny and great. It is up to the parents whether or not to share outside the network of family and friends. I am glad they did. Obviously so are millions of other people.
Lisa, if you don't like it, don't watch it. Its the best censorship method out there.
Get a life. You really need to lighten up as other peple have said. It was a family moment.
Adam, it wasn't funny. It was downright HYSTERICAL! Only question is how "under" did they put him to pull a frikkin' tooth? Some gas & LOTS of novocaine is all I ever got when I was a kid getting dental work done. People really do need to lighten up though.
Too bad you can only vote once. LMAO!!
I agree
some one should sedate her, I just left the dentist with 2 RCT and 4 crowns. I wish I had video of me trying to feed myself mashed potatoes when I got home, it was everywhere! We need to relax and be able to see others doing the everyday stuff that we all go through day after day!
It sounds like your concern isn't actually the welfare of the child but the potential that your job may become more difficult. Get over it.
Exactly where do you work? Just so I can be sure NOT to bring my kid there....He needs to get care from a dentist office that has a sense of humor and isn't stiff and out of touch with reality, thanks.
I think you need to lighten up Lisa!! And I am sure glad I am not a patient at your dental office because your comment shows how up tight your office is!! I also work at a dental office and have for ten years and it doesn't matter, young or old, people don't like coming to the dentist!! BUT if you have an office who is up beat and has a good time the patients see that and realize that its a laid back office and everything is going to be okay! And if you have worked in the dental field for that long I can guarantee you have seen alot worse that this!! The parents were just trying to have fun and when this kid get older he will get a kick out of the video and the reaction he had at the dentist! People like you blow thing out of proportion and make it hard to have a good time!!! But it sounds like you are a perfect parent!! ha ha
I am a certified clinical psychologogist and I could not disagree more. You say that you believe that others will be afraid after viewing this, however due to the hysterical nature of the video most people will actually find a reduction in any form of anxiety prior to thier dentist visit. Laughter reduces anxiety, it does not increase it.
Godd Lord unwind...you're obviously wound too tight!!!!! I saw it and it made me giggle...the lighter side of life...humor...get a sense of one please.....
This is much ado about nothing! In fact, this is quite informative and educational as to what happens to people under drugs. The boy said some very poignant things while under the influence and will give people an idea what can happen. It would make one think twice about taking illicit drugs and without supervision. It's a learning lesson and nothing shocking about it. This did have its humorous side to it; it's all part of life like tripping and falling on your bottom. It's serious, embarassing, but also humorous; something no one would ridicule.
Thats why ur an assistant and not a surgeon. 25yrs. ha
Kudos Lisa! I am a hygienist and completely agree with you. The certified psychologist above seems to find it funny. I am not a prude and have seen plenty of stuff on youtube and facebook. If they wanted to share it with their family, send an e-mail with a video. I found this without any trouble on youtube prior to all the hoopla and thought, "what an idiot that father is". While laughter may reduce anxiety, I don't think this is the type of thing parents and people in general want to see to help reduce anxiety in the dental chair. I think the funnies in Readers Digest are probably more effective. My kids initially thought it was funny--they are 17 and 19--then thought the father was pretty stupid to have taken the video of his son. We have a very fun and upbeat office and even our patients who asked if we had seen it thought it was poorly thought out by David's father. Just my 2 cents....
please tell you are actually not a parent! your kids probably have no friend because of the huge sticks protruding from their bums!
Give me an F-ing break Lisa. I have been working with CHILD WELFARE for over 7 years. And have a degree in Psychology as well. There was NOTHING wrong with this video and it WAS/IS funny/cute. Quit trying to act like your job as a dental assistant is so "above" everybody else. When you've seen kids removed from homes that have been raped and beaten, placed with strangers and act out inappropriately, grow up in the system feeling as though no one wants them....THEN we can have an intelligent discussion...IF you are able to do so.
These are devoted parents and should be LEFT THE HELL ALONE.
PERIOD!
Good God lady, kids are scared of the dentist because he has a drill that might end up in their mouth. The dentist fear is so natural that kids who don't even know what it is about, automatically fear it. The video was funny and you are seriously over reacting.
you are a fool you think that because of this video it will make your job harder well guess what your still going to bring home your rich dental check and will be for the rest of your life so i dont want to hear your complaints about something that was going to be ment for good gun
Give me a break. The fact that you can't laugh at something that is both innocent and funny is truly sad.
It will follow him forever because of people like you that had to make a big deal about it...I had forgotten all about until somebody made a fuss over it. This is the modern day equivalent of the sleepy kid coming down the stairs on Christmas morning.....watch Americas Funnies Videos some nite and have a laugh would ya.....gee whiz!!
It is attitudes like yours that make things like this such a huge deal. I am sure this boy will not be haunted for the rest of his life over this. This Dad meant no harm what so ever. If anything they have this video to show there son later in life to show him how much he did not like being on drugs. Give me a break people. Is there not more out there to worry about?
I will make sure if my kids need dental work not to get dental assistant Lisa because it sounds like her job is very difficult for her and she forgets to stop and enjoy the small things in life. This was cute. Parents arent going to be using this to scare their kids, and if they do, it's THOSE parents who are the problem.
Sssooo... I'm guessing you don't watch America's Funniest Home Videos then, huh? I feel bad for your husband to have married such a cold fish. Go buy a sense of humor. He's probably cheating on you anyway with someone much more fun and you know what? They are laying naked in bed watching youtube in his laptop and laughing their arses off! Go find some cause to get involved in, or some obscure endangered animal that no one cares abotu to go hug and protect, will you?
I think this is totally a parent's call, and I don't think it is appropriate to judge. There is nothing offensive about what they have done to this child; they did not film him in any compromising situation. It is just a funny look what anesthesia does to a person. Personally, I want my child to be able to grow up an laugh at the funny things she did--I worry that if she lost that ability, then she'll be an unhappy person in life.
Lisa, as far as your concerns about the impact this has on dentistry, I think you are being a bit hyperbolic. Any child who has had a filling knows that the dentist is not always a "pleasant experience." They don't need a YouTube video to tell them that. Many of you guys do a great job in your profession, but let's not pretend it is something it is not.
I think the parents were stupid to post that video on YouTube for the whole world to see. I can certainly understand capturing a cute moment on video for the family only to view. But why post it on YouTube for strangers to look at and laugh at? Sure, the son is going along with the situation right now because he's so young (and frankly what good would it do him if he didn't like the video being posted like that---thanks to mom and dad, it's too late). But when he gets older, it may not be so cute and funny anymore. You can argue that the video is harmless but it's the principal of the thing! The child should have some say-so in this. Would the parents like it if someone took an unflattering video of them as they're coming out of anethesia and posted it on YouTube without telling them?
Exactly, what "principal" are you talking about? At what age do you involve your minor children in decision making in the family? What decisions do children get to participate in? Does the child get veto power in any family vote? What harm has come to the child as a result of the posting?
OMG again shut up.
I think it's freakin hilarious! I would have done the exact same thing, captured the video and shared it. If blame is to be assigned, the Utube website should do more to prompt who sees what so parents with little technical know-how can safely post pictures and videos. But really, this was FUNNY! I enjoyed a good laugh, I have three boys and see absolutely nothing wrong with what they posted. It's not like the parents got the kid drunk then shot the video. It was a normal procedure most people will go through so to get a laugh out of what's not usually a fun situation is harmless! I guess there are people who could use a funny-bone transplant!!! I just think it's good humor - and if social services were to get involved, it would be a massive WASTE of tax payer dollars. They can be utilized in places they're needed, not on parents who forgot to check a box when posting a video...
Dustin ... short & to the point ... 2fkng funny ... again
LOL Dustin
uhh... they did ask David's (v2) permission to post the video. It was SEVEN MONTHS after it happened, he'd seen the video before.
Hell, like someone else said, I've seen worse on AFV. He's a cult sensation. I can't wait for shirts that say, "Is this real life?" I'll make them and start a college fund for the kid!
Yes, the 7 year old should make decisions about life...are you high?
If that were true my family would be having chocolate frosted fried Lucky Charms over Rocky Road for dinner and wearing underpants and capes out of the house. Silly.
Hopefully the little sweethearts parents' sense of humor is hereditary, and he won't care when he grows up...(hey, it might even get him some action when he gets to college!)
Its all going to be ok. Calm down and give a chuckle to one of lifes funny moments.
Cindy -- PLEASE for the love of all that is decent educate yourself BEFORE you post something that makes you look like an imbecile! The dad admitted that he was unfamiliar with the permissions YOU TUBE allows posters to set and made it available to everyone. It was a MAGNIFICENT error! Sometimes serendipitous things happen. This is one of them. Collectively, the country needed a good chuckle and the DeVores unwittingly provided it. The kid is a freakin' rock star! Your concern is misplaced.
Who gives a care! Lighten up! People these day don't know how to laugh anymore, everything is so freaking serious except for what really matter like people having no food, lossing their jobs, Wounding Solider have no healthcare once they discharge, and family lossing their home that's serious thing. Making a video of your kid and showing him is ok to laught at yourself is ok. This is why most people are on drugs and psych medication because they don't know how to laugh and live anymore. Get a life and when he grows up no one would give a care about this video anymore except for the butt heads who make a moutain out of a hill....Grow up and learn to live. Life is to freaking short to sweat the small stuff and believe me this is small stuff unless you make a big thing of it. Focus your attention on bigger matter then this. As for calling Child service be freaking real. Why don't we look at those who really abuse their kids. If you ask those kid, I bet they would tell you they wish they parents cared enought to video tape them and making a big deal of they event then being beat up by them. We don't want too because it easy to act like those who really care did something wrong so we could feel good about our tight up behind. (can't say the other word to many tight up behind out there). Get a freaking life. Dave Sr, wife and son don't let these people change who you are. I think you are good parents because you care..and the butt heads who making a big deal out of these I feel sorry for your kids. They probably are on drugs for some kind of help.
I agree, although he's only a kid. The parents went too far in sharing this with the world.
You people need to lighten the hell up. I live in South Korea and you should see the dangerous world these kids live in that the adults take for granted! (Letting 4 year-olds walk to school by themselves crossing busy streets without traffic signals or crossing guards, treats that smell like plastic, bringing exacto knives to school to sharpen their pencils..among just a few!) This child was under a doctor's supervision and under his parent's care. And the fact that his ramblings were so hilarious was worth sharing and not exploitive. If they were doing it for money, yeah, but you could say that people who post their animals walking into walls as exploitive! LIGHTEN UP AMERICA!!!!! YOU'LL LIVE LONGER!
LOL! do you know how many people DO post videos of themselves like that? or unflattering pictures because they are funny. It sounds to me like you are the prim and proper type... never be caught without your make-up!, not the world of today. while you spend forever putting on your perfect make-up so that no one takes an unflattering picture, i'll be out, possibly with yesterdays mascara making me look a little raccoony... enjoying and laughing at life.
Whoever thinks this video is "harmful" to the child and his parents were exploiting him are loopier than David was-- the fact is that the father was very concerned for his son's well being and showed his concern several times throughout the video, often correcting him when he was either saying something untrue or trying to poke at his stitches---
c'mon--this video is funny and the family is caring, positive and supportive of David-- David is just flat out cute and funny in this video.
I agree. In fact, the only thing about this situation that causes me concern is the attitude of the Chicago Sun Times columnist (and those like hers)!
It's a good thing that foolishness wasn't as pervasive when I was young - the whole fam damily would have been in JAIL.
And we thought it was just FUN
Can't something just be funny without controversy? I think anyone who finds a problem with this needs to relax a little and take it for what it is- a funny moment that makes you laugh. With the way things are in the world, we need more of those. There are plenty of other things going on in the world that are upsetting. This is funny. Just laugh.
Erin, you hit the nail on the head ! Just like listed above also, the boy was not in any uncompromising actions etc... Thank You Erin :)
I totally agree with you, Erin. It was funny, i laughed, no one got hurt, the end.
I think Erin said it best - can't everyone just appreciate the video for what it was? The kid wasn't in any danger and all of you people up in arms about this needs to focus your energy on something else.... we truly are The United States of the Offended.... get over yourselves!
The parents sounded reasonable and caring and I do not think it is exploiting their child. They did not put the video for the world to see. they did it for family members and friends to see.
I agree with Erin 995030. Good lord, people, get a life!! this was an Innocent taping of their child. Now if ANYTHING, the company that makes those "Drug" commercials should buy this commercial and use it as a SUPERB example of what can happen when your kids get into your medications. Use it for educational purposes, if anything.
Give me a break! Seriously, this was just funny and NOT abusive. Get a sense of humor, there are FAR worse things out there.
People need to get off of their high horse. Many of us have filmed our kids doing things we find funny - and millions send them in to be shown on national TV or post them on line. is it really worse than showing your son getting hit in the groin with a baseball bat? It was a situation that most of us would have been on the floor if it were our child - the fact that it was posted on you tube.... well that is a personal choice that each of us has a right to make and it truly isn't like these parents are exploiting their child... they didn't sell it - they shared a funny memory.
I agree 100%. I recently filmed my daughter before a procedure. The dr was aware that I was doing it. For anyone to judge this is laughable. Get a life people. I mean really.
Did we have these same kind of discussions when parents were sending in tapes of their kids running into sliding glass doors and falling off trampolines to America's Funniest Home Videos? Come on, folks. . . if we laughed then, can't we laugh now? I just lament that fact that we've all become so hyper-sensitive to everything in America these days, that we're scared to laugh at the normal things of life that are indeed funny for fear we'll be called out as exploiters or harassers.
Good point! America's Funniest Home Videos has had way worse things on the show, and it is considered a good wholesome family program!
I think AFV shows stuff that is downright painful, but it was accidental and we laugh.( I hate the videos of guys getting hurt in the most hurtful spot, those i don't laugh at)
David was FUNNY and you can hear how much his dad loves him. So let's just laugh when something is funny and stop trying to make us feel bad cause we do. I often tell people I'm a horrible mom cause i laugh when my kids get hurt(not seriously hurt) but falling or running into something. My youngest was climbing a jungle gym at the playground, didn't realize that she was not at the top, jumped up, and hit her head on the next bar. It clanged so loud that everyone turned around to see what happened and I'm sitting there rubbing her head and laughing so hard I was crying. I wished I'd had a video! ( she's ok, people. She's 15 now, still remembers and thinks it's funny, she's not tramatized)
100% agree on the hyper-sensitive comment JNoah. However, I am not scared to laugh at something I think is funny. I'm not on the PC bandwagon. That's what's wrong with some people today.....butt cheeks are too tight (as was posted above somewhere).
White trash is as white trash does.
I'll steer my kids away from those who have parents like that.
OOOps I meant "video" in my comment..............Here Here JNoah I totally agree. We go so balistic over the stupidest things, no wonder our country is a laughing stock. I mean, it really is here with our judicial system as messed up as it is, that anyone can pretty much do any horrible crime they want, & then turn out to never do the time for it.........very sad. Very sad indeed.
I think this is plain creepy. I remember my son had a similar experience after having an anesthetic such as this given before stitches were placed in his head. He was very disoriented after the fact and went from crying to laughing back to crying - all at the age of 2. It was extremely disturbing to me as a parent trying to comfort him throughout this ordeal and I can't imagine any parent thinking it funny. He is 20 years old now but I vividly remember the experience and one of the worst experiences of my parenting life! When I saw this video, I recalled the terror in my son's face at a tender age and even though this child does not remember it, I do feel that there is something of a "mean streak" in this father for relishing in his child's confusion and disorientation.
Honestly......This was TOOOO funny and no one and I men NO ONE was hurt. Anyone who thinks was a bad thing needs to get a grip on reality !! You people are the reason we no longer have ice creame trucks or yard darts !!!! GET A GRIP....!! When my son had his wisdome teeth pulled, he went through the same thing. To this day he wishes I had taped it somehow, because of how I tell the story. Life is too short...Lighten up and let your kids get dirty !!!!
Gayle--Stop confusing your distress and negative memories of the event with your son's lack of the same. The whole point of successful anesthesia is to take away the pain of a medical/dental procedure and many/all of the unpleasant memories associated with it. Clearly, it worked since he has no recollection of the event. Stop projecting your issues onto this video--and your son.
I believe you are correct and anyone who thinks that this video is funny, let alone "hilarious" certainly does not have children or grandchildren of their own.
I agree it is creepy and mean for the Father to do this to a child
be for real! the kid loved the fact that he was able to see himself after the procedure and understand the concept behind it. The father did not tape him to be mean! Laughter is good for the soul and nowadays too many people are living life so stressed out and smiling less. Come on now! live it up for once and enjoy laughter and humor. It was a harmless video for goodness sake! Dang!!!
"M-828804" you certainly forgot what ASSuming does.... I am a parent and, hey, I thought it was HILARIOUS!!! What "Gayle"'s son went through was what Gayle's son went through. David's video is about what DAVID went through and, as the article says, it was 7 months after the fact that the video got posted on YouTube. What David went through was NOT was "Gayle's son" went through and his dad was not in the wrong to record it. The father didn't "do" anything to the child. Lighten up. If the kid was bleeding or hurt or in a compromising situation, concern would definitely be merited. BUT HE WASN'T. End of story.
Did the dad get the kid drunk and film it? Of course not.
This is all in fun - no foul.
When my coworker sent the video in Jan or Feb, we cracked up. We started talking about our own loopy dental experiences. I remembered when my sister had all 4 wisdom teeth removed in one day! My mom and I giggled for hours while we cared for her.
People, chill out. In the last few weeks, two children from the Triad area (NC) have died in mysterious circumstances while "supervised" by adults. Those are serious cases of child abuse. We should be worried about children caught in very real abuse and neglect cycles. The energy spent debating the "Loopy Video" would be better used at a local nonprofit agency or working as a Guardian Ad Litem.
There isn't a parent out there who has not, at some point in time, taken a comical photo or video of there children doing something funny. From taken pictures of some of the goofy costumes during holloween to videos from the amusement park. These photos and videos are shared with family and friends. Posting it on Youtube? That is a parents call and everyone else needs to stay out of their business of what and how they share their childs life. The video was hilarious and great for a good pick-me-up laugh to get my morning started.....
It's cute, it's funny and it showed concern by the dad. Life is too short and too hard. Get over it if you have a problem with this. The boy is adorable.
Very well put Alicia. I agree with you and many others who thought this was harmless fun. My son got sedated last Friday and got 6 teeth taken out. It was he who told me before we left the house.."Mommy dont forget the camera! I want you to tape me!" lol...I posted the video on youtube...even though it was a little bit sad to see him emotional and then smiling and telling me to take a picture, it was still all at his request and he loves watching the video now and starts laughing at himself. He thanked me for taping him. I wish my mom taped every great moment of me as a child rather than just have her verbally explain everything to me. (smile)
Please people, lighten up.
