Hey... they are the champs, so until they lose, UF has to be ranked no. 1.
check it out the canes has played the better competition out of all those teams and when tthey beat va tech and ok they will be the unanimous choice for number 1
OK, so the Gators made it rough on themselves today...but they still won! If you watch the entire game (not just the highlights) you will see Tennessee has an awesome defense and I would hate to see those "little-horns" take the same Tennessee team on that Florida faced today. Sorry, but Texas should not be number one. I would give my first place vote to Washington before Texas this week.
Notre Dame should be number 1!
LOL! guess that means that Michigan is number? what? Until Weiss learns now to manage the clock, and until Notre Dame learns some humility and teamwork, they will not be back at number 1 for a long time. Michigan is on its way back.
Alabama, should be number 1, followed by Penn st., then Texas, then Florida, then Miss. The big 12 has alot of "splainin" to do, as does the Pac 10's USC. Actually, they don't have any "splainin" to do, it would be the beat writers that had them so highly touted and ranked..Like Okie State, or FSU, or BYU. Jury is still out on Boise St. So far, they've done what is expected of them. IN fact, I think Boise State might just be the real deal.
Florida should stay number one until they are beaten, additionally, it looks like Tennessee will be back soon.
Florida should remain number one until they are beaten, but it also looks like Tennessee will soon be coming back to the top twenty-five.
Yes, keep Florida at #1. Bama will march thru the SEC like Sherman on their way to Atlanta for the SEC championship and won't have a repeat of last year! Roll Tide !!
Florida only wins by 10 points, overthrow the king he is weak.Pac 10 perennial falls on face,Big 10 whips little team, and Texas only wins by 10.Sounds like a BCS matchup already determined Florida vs Texas.
Thankfully, thats why we play the games. On any given saturday! I'm a big ten fan, but to me, it does look like Bama has the most complete Team, whether that translates to wins is of course another story. Sabin is a very good coach, the equal to Meyer if you ask me. I'm hesitant to give Texas a big nod, simply because so far many have been wrong about the big 12's strength this year. Okie State was a real let down, however, some of the teams look like they might be able to go places..Texas is one of em. Colt McCoy is a good qb, but, game management, and his surrounding cast may not be quite as good as advertised. So far, they've beat up on a couple of teams, but did have some trouble with Tch at home.
I'll be happy with a bowl this year for my Wolverines, at 3-0, with a big win over visiting Notre Dame, with a freshmen qb, and other young counterparts, they look good. BCS bowl? probably not, but bowl game..hey, 3 more wins right? I have a feeling that Michigan and RichRod are on their way back, and woe to those that overlook us.
i'll admit florida didnt look great in the win over tennessee. however, tennessee planned that game out since kif got there, they were well prepared, have a good defense and played over their heads. florida should be concerned with the fact that tebow was the ENTIRE offense. that doesnt bode well moving forward and if they dont find receivers to stretch the field and backs to move the chains, it may be a disappointing season. tebow cannot do it all.
note: the sec has 3 of top 4 spots.....remains the toughest conference by far.
If Florida was all that, it wouldn't have mattered how much Tenn prepared. Florida offense isa down to one player - Tebow. Although he is great, he will need help to get passed the SEC powerhouses. Perhaps Florida should go out and buy some receivers. Beating Tenn is nothing more than beating the pre-game hype. Tenn is going nowhere fast. No QB! Florida will end the season with 2 losses and in the bottom half of the 25.
florida is only the champs cause we have a stupid voting in system
which favors the old confederate states otherwise usc/ utah/ boise state would have won last couple years.
best team right now vs caliber of teams is CAL
northern cal
Confederate States? By the same token we could say that the west was once part of Mexico.
What's this have to do with football?
Southern states are favored,is that a joke or are you really an idiot. We have this thing called a playoff that often knocks the number one team out and then does not position the winner in the final. If you had a conference worth anything you would have a playoff but with the losers you have in the Pac 10 USC would still win.Besides why risk your hyped up,undeserved status and put it all on the line.Once again how many SEC teams are in the top ten and will only be knocked down by another SEC team.SEC championship game will probably determine who should be number one or at least who should be one of the two teams in the BCS championship.
The BCS system is a joke. There should be a playoff and that would settle who the real national champion is. People say that Florida is #1, Then why don't Florida schedule some real teams to play on their non-conference schedule. Miami, Florida State, USC, Biose State, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Georgia, just to name a few have scheduled real non-conference opponents. Let's see, Florida scheduled Charlseton Southern, Troy, and Florida International, wow what a real tough schedule that is!!!!
Correction: Boise St has a lame schedule and will still get their asses handed to them. SEC rules!!!
As a Kentucky fan, whose football teams usually suck, I don't care who #1 is as long as they're in the SEC.
Actually, all things being equal, the Number One team in the nation is still the Mount Union College Purple Raiders. They have an enviable record, more national championships in their division than anyone in any other division and they are on their way to another successful season in defense of their 2008 title.
Watch Florida in the next three games. They will
demolish the competiton. Tennessee almost won
with Monte Kiffin as defensive coach...almost ain't
enough. No other team has a defensive coach who
was tops in the NFL. Tennessee will do well.
Florida will end up with the National Championship.
Tenn alsmost won because FL couldn't show dominance. FL will end up 9-2 this season. Tenn will be lucky to break even. They don't have a QB worth a crap.
Remember Tennessee is in the SEC. You better be ready to play any time you play an SEC team. On any given Saturday a team from the SEC can upset any team in this country. Look at Ole Miss last year and Auburn two years before that, they were the only losses to the National Champions. Just look at the current top 10 and you will see Florida #1, Alabama #3, Ole Miss #4 and LSU #7 they won't end up ranked that high 'cause they have to play each other during the season or in the SEC championship. There is no doubt in my mind the National Champs will come from the SEC and it will probably be Florida or Alabama. This comment is coming from a former quarterback in the SEC.

No doubt, Texas with Colt McCoy are hard to stop.
