Fox News is marketing themselves a specific way. Look at Fox Nation and their advertising. I have been in marketing for over 20 years. While some of their marketing may be considered smart, a lot of can now be considered downright dangerous in these times. If you want them to stage a media coup, well that's your issue. But that is what they are doing, with backing from right wing organizations, big corporations and big money. The same arguments the the left made complaining about right winged radio is the same they are defending when it comes to television. You can't have it both ways. Both NBC and Fox report the news, and both have opinion sections. Ms. Marketing in 1.23 has pointed out that they have to be different in order to attract advertisers. And as people we have the right to change the channel. The White House is trying to affect the outcome of the programming. Every Journalism school and professor, student and true journalist, lives by a code of truth in reporting. When you learn how to write a news story, the most basic premise is that the story reflect truth, and that the feelings and opinions of the journalist does not color the true story.

Even liberal reporters like Walter Cronkite always made sure that their reports were based on truth and every story was a reflection of evidence and fact, not opinion and speculation.

Starting in the early nineties, right-wing FOX reporters began to editorialize. In journalism, editorialize describes when an editor (or journalist) injects their own values or moral position into the story.

Professors of journalism always insisted that every story be fair and balanced. Fox News, knowing they were ignoring this aspect of the noble profession of journalism, made up for their unfairness and imbalance by making "Fair and Balanced" be a motto.

If they were truly "Fair and Balanced" would they have to use it as a motto? Of course not.

Fox News is operated with no regard for fair and balanced, as they discovered it is much more profitable to put the fair and balanced into their jingle instead of the news.

Whenever there is a story that shows anything positive about the democratic agenda, Fox kills it. They find some lost lovely missing from spring break and cover that 24/7 just so they do not have to report on things they dislike.

Jager is right. When you make a personal statement it's an opinion, not fact. News stations report facts. FOX does not. Why is this an argument? Seriously, like FOX or hate them, what educated person can argue this point if you've ever really watched their "news" segments?

Health Care will take 10 years to start working properly by addressing health concerns before they become emergencies. Without a public Option it it may take 20 years and eventually have a public option anyway. Clinton paid down the debt and uplifted the middle class while lowering poverty rates and slowing the gap between rich and poor. Under Reagan and Bush the National Debt skyrocketed, the middle class lost ground, poverty rates nearly doubled and the gap between rich and poor expanded.

As much as I liked Bill Clinton, your argument here is specious at best! We were never paying on the National Debt and just because we weren't running any red ink doesn't mean that there was a Surplus when he left Office! Ronald Reagan was the one who left Office with a 3 Trillion Dollar National Debt, but there was a very good reason for that! 4 years of Jimmy Carter and his Policies very nearly ruined this Country at the Height of The Cold War! I remember his 4 years in Office very well, Inflation in double digits, Unemployment in double digits, the likes of which hadn’t been seen since the Great Depression, Gas Lines and Gas Shortages, 50 Hostages held in Iran for 444 days (they were released the hour Ronald Reagan took Office because they knew that he would Declare War on Iran if they weren’t released, that’s a fact) and a Gutted Military that couldn’t do anything about it, though they did try and Died as a result of poor planning on Jimmy Carter’s Watch, nearly everything in this Country collapsed, the Steel Industry has never recovered nor has the Auto Industry, yes the Auto Industry was in trouble then as well as today and it has nothing to do with the cars they made then or make now, it has everything to do with fact that Foreign Competition undercuts American made products with cheap Labor and Tax Cuts, and our own Government is always more then willing to Sell-Out the American Worker and the rest of its Population! very true. Slants are everywhere. You have to think and analyze what you're reading. not take the delivery method as is regardless of what outlet you choose.

I remember as a kid, the news was an hour long. They didn't have time to speculate and inject a slant. It was a pure. Now we have a huge mess because people want to hear new stories every 20 mins and the networks ahve to come up with them. Hence, the extra BS slants.

Give me a break.  Calling Fox a news station is like calling the National Enquirer a news journal.  They are both entertainment mediums that pander to the lowest common denominator...and it looks like they found it.  There is a good reason that a majority of fox news watchers think Saddam was involved in 9/11 and that we found WMD in Iraq. The reason is that Fox reported it that way and that your average fox viewer just ain't that swift.  They take what fox puts out as gospel and never bother to do any fact checking on their own.  Hell...it was fox that put out that ridiculous special in April of 2001 "Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?'' about how the moon landings were supposedly faked. Boy did they know their audience.  These sheep brought it hook, line and sinker.    Neil Cuvato recently said that Bush was responsible for the stock market rebounding to over 10,000 for the first time in over a year; even though he said in March that Obama was responsible for it tanking.  Lets see...Bush took office with the Dow at 10,578.  He turned it over to Obama with the Dow at 7949.  With Bush as president the Dow lost 2629 points (-24.8%)  It is now 10,101 as I write this.   UP 2151 points (+ 27.06%) since Obama took office.  And Bush gets credit on fox...even though Obama took the blame on fox during the spring when the dow was down.  No...they don't have an agenda....not at all...LMAO.

Why is it that the left seems to be great at name calling but falls short on specific examples that can be researched? There are plenty of abuses out there to find, on both parties. Most of us will agree with each other when confronted with Facts. Most of us will abandon our parties if they are immoral, unjust or 100% biased against what is good for the country. Please people, stop the name calling and start pointing out facts.

If the Right is confronted by their voters on factual issues it will lead to "Change we can Believe in."

Good news is that I think America is waking up. This action along with other recent actions of Obama and his administration tell me that he's all about himself and his party. There are two Americas according to liberals: the ruling class and all the underlings.

FOX news has every right just like the other stations to report the news without fear of censorship. There were some comments that this is like Nixon's approach and I agree with that. I was once a centrist Independent until I listened to the liberal left and now I'm a conservative and I plan on remaining one for the rest of my life.
