Coach Carroll can do anything. But he won't get it done the first year or maybe even the second. USC will greatly miss him as head coach; the Trojans star has never shone brighter than it did under Coach Carroll. Nor, for that matter, has teh PAC 10 conference. He'll turn Seattle around, he'll find a quarterback in the mold of Mark Sanchez, runners like Reggie Bush & Leon White + superb pass receivers & a stifling defense. Best of luck, Coach.
It will take atleast 3 years to re-built the Seahawks, and if Pete does not have control or atleast a major saying in player personnel, he is set up to fail. Wish him well though, he did wonders with that USC program, and enjoyed watching his teams over the years.
Everyone who knows Carroll understands that he is a control freak micro manager. He claims that he knew nothing about the Reggie Bush free house and also the McKnight situation. What a liar. It's not enough that he tried to ruin Sanchez''s NFL career to give himself a better shot at the title but now he's bailing out of the sinking ship. Even the fans in Seattle can't figure out why he was hired after completely failing in the NFL.
I plead ignorance of the current Seahawks, I do have some memory of Pete as an NFL head coach, and things didn't work out very well for him. He may have had some issues at USC, he should have stayed there. Another successful college coach who told the locals he would never leave, then he ups and leaves for what he thinks are greener pastures, in the pros. Have the Seahawks ever done anything good in the NFL?
I am guessing most of the 30%+ that are voting against Seattle making the playoffs are college football fans voting with their heart against Carroll rather than actually looking at the Seahawk situation.
Seattle would have made the playoffs even with Mora.
Carroll was a .500 coach in the NFL, and that isn't going to change because of his college success. Carroll himself admitted that one of the advantages of USC was that he could draft/recruit as many first round picks as he wanted. Not anymore. Now he gets one first round draft pick a year and he is taking over a team that has an over-the-hill quarterback, very few legitimate offensive weapons, and a mediocre defense. Good luck
Carroll's big reason for leaving isn't to be successful in the NFL, it is to get out of USC before his improper recruiting practices catch up with him. He is a coward that talks the talk, but definitely doesn't walk the walk.
Carroll will be another great College Coach, that will flounder in the NFL
He had a great program at USC... but previous stays in the NFL were "average". Heck, I think any good High School coach could win at USC. Take a coach like Mike Leach, he brought a program from "no where" to National Champions. I would rather give him the shot (of course hide all the storage shed keys), at the helm of the SeaHawks.
I am a big SeaHawk fan, but I am not thinking this will be a good fit, Lets see.. our previous big College coach hopeful... Erickson 31-33 (bust). Hey I hope I am wrong... but I have a feeling this will be just another disappointment for the Seattle hopeful.
Pete should never have left USC even if there are some sanctions coming. He was like a god to these college players and recruiting top players year after year. A big difference between coaching and motivating 19 year old college players vs. 25 year old millionaire's who have always been big time stars. The money is great for him but life is more than a paycheck.
His QB gone... and lots of starters, too. He will be hamburger meat in his conference now, So why not make BIG money and be hamburger meat? Money talks...now USC will be just another team.
A coach does not a team make!

Pete has a point to prove. Seattle/Mr. Allen want to win. This will work. It's far better than the Mora plan.

Paul Allen is a very smart man. He will not waste his money. This will fan out for us SEAHAWK FANS!!!!!!!!!!!

They went to the Super Bowl and lost to the Steelers.
Currently they play in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL.
Pete will have his victories.
