Yes, I think it will benefit the Lakers for the remaining months if Kobe sat out to heal and rest his injuries. It will give others time to show they have backbone and will solidify their chances of playing with more confidence come playoff time. Rest up Kobe, we need you back at more than 75%.
He has paid his debt for that mistake, over and over and over again. And your bringing it up shows that he is still paying for that mistake, as he will for the rest of his life. There is no venue he visits in which he is not reminded of that by the booing of the fans and/or signs in the stands.
wowlfer is the guy who wrote that his mom ran into a tree and he wants to sue the car company. he's ticked off that someone else got to have a payday from false accusation on kobe and he didn't.
if his mommy ran into a tree, chanced are she dropped him head first at birth, hence we have his moronic comments.
That is such old news. I forgot about that. Only Laker haters and jealous people remember that. You're just mad that you don't have Kobe's money or talent. LOL! He was a kid back then. Black Mamba rules!!!
Number 1: It wasn't rape idiot. Remember she had sex with her boyfriend about an hour later? That is hardly behavior for a rape victim. It's more like celebration that they got Kobe Bryant to do something dumb for the money they were now anticipating.
Number 2: He fully repented to his Lord and to his family, all of whom have forgiven him. Those of you who continue to judge him will be judged yourselves one day. How many of you are without sin?
I am a die-hard Laker fan and I do think that Kobe should either bench himself or Phil Jackson should remove him from the lineup so that his injuries can be somewhat healed by the playoffs. I understand that they want to have the home-field advantage but I would rather have Kobe healed for the playoffs than sitting on the bench and lose in one of the playoff rounds. I realize that you can't replace Kobe with anybody else but the Laker lineup could step it up a notch and let their leader heal. Gasol needs to put his heighth to an advantage and start scoring from inside. Odom needs to get hot and all the others need to do that for Kobe. Kobe has done so much for the other teammates, it's about time the scale is turned.
Apparently Jackson is afraid to assert his authority with Bryant. With the money he makes, he should adhere to what his coach says. I'd rather see Brown or Farmar in the lineup than a totally banged up Bryant. He appears to be pissing off his teamates recently with his ball hogging. Bryant is a great player, but he was better when he got the whole team involved in the game. Gasol's brother Mark looks like a better player right now. Pau does not like being a bystander, and seems like a different player in the bad way right now.
So, tell me, when was he EVER convicted of doing anything of the sort? I guess you must be one of those Republicans that say the President is a terrorist too...Nice, no wonder this country is going downhill FAST
If the Lakers are a great team, then their mettle would need to show up while Kobe gets rested and hopefully heal in time for the playoffs...... Iwould think the best to leave is right after the NBA All-Stars game...
I think Kobe should decide if Kobe plays. If he feels he can benefit from a break, he'll take one. If he thinks he's of greater benefit to the team playing hurt, he'll play. This is one I leave up to Kobe. He's way beyond doing something for the ego trip. If he's playing, it's because he thinks he can contribute.
Yes i believe that Kobe should bench himself inorder to heal. We need him at full strenght come the playoff. Kobe has been playing hurt for the past two years. He is a true champion. He thinks of the team first dispite his discomfort. However this was not always the case. It was all about Kobe. The new and improved Kobe considers his team first instead of how much can he score. The rest of the team really needs to step up and stop making Kobe feel as if they cant win without him.
It's up to the coach who plays. Bryant right now is not the best player on the floor. If Bryant really cared about the team, he would stay off the court for a few games and let his body heal. He is a great player, but below average playing with all these injuries. Oh, and he can't defend either. If Carmelo is healthy and playing, Denver will beat the Lakers for sure if Bryant plays. I've see Kobe play hurt before and be great. However he's never had these many things go bad for him at one time.
Even hurt Kobe tends to score almost if not more than half the lakers points and that is just wrong. Gasol is a great player and an asset to the team. Odem needs to step up all the time not just some times
Yes, as hard as it is to say it, Kobe should rest. His mental toughness is unquestioned, and besides LBJ he has no equal in the league.
Kobe is gonna be needed down the stretch and it would serve the rest of the team well to STEP THE HELL up and start contributing - CONSISTENTLY, like all of us fans know you can. This includes you, Pau! And, I have mad love for Pau, but lately...he's startin to look that "Gasoft" guy. That Memphis game was aggravating to watch. His brother, Marc, just punk'd 'em.
Let's be honest, Laker fans...Cavs right now, w/emphasis on "right now" are the better and more cohesive team. Unless they fold like a house of cards in the eastern conference playoffs, we most likely face them in the NBA Finals. And, LBJ has got that look in his eyes like he ain't gonna be denied by anyone this season, including the Lakers.
So, for the greater good of the team, KB24...please take some needed time off to heal your: back, ankle, finger and whatever else may ail ya, and get to 100% so you can go lights out down the stretch! We need ya, Kobe! Seriously, rest, man. You are still the baddest motherf***** w/the game on the line w/only seconds left to shoot in the league!!! End of story.
Yes, it's time Kobe took a rest. The average NBA player wouldn't have played half as much as Kobe has with his broken finger and sprained ankle. Kobe is King.
Laker for time being is a physically and mentally tired team. And plus injury. For the 8 road games, They played awefully. Even they won 5 , the winning margin was 1 or 2 points, they could not throw a pea into the ocean. Only at indiana was a convincing one. If they keep playing like now , I don't think they will repeat.Whether 24 should quitting playing now to heal his injuries is to be decided by the head coach and 24, himself. It also will be decided by the way how they look at the now - the home field advantage and post season - the championship. If they do not rest the 24 and let his injuries heal, He will be a bad shooter, bad defender, and bad influencer of the team. It also depends on 24's personal pride. Looking down the road or now.
It's ridiculous for Kobe to be playing right now. He is so hurt that he is hurting his team rather than helping him. This "iron man" mentality is good when it is not taken to an extreme. Kobe is tough - I don't think there is anyone who knows basketball who doesn't know that. He's also human and he is hurt right now. Rest, recup, and win another championship!
Kobe needs to be benched for quite a while. Broken finger, sprained ankle, bad back, the finger on the other hand is bad as well.....He needs to heal for a number of reasons:
1. For himself. If he continues to play without healing, his injuries are just going to get worse, and new injuries may crop up as well.
2. For his team and the playoffs.
3. For his fans. No one likes to see him struggle as he has been doing lately.
I think Kobe should wait out the game and try to heal. And for those who make horrible remarks, get over it! He is a great player and the fact that we get to watch him is a treat!

He should bench himself permanently in jail for trying to rape a woman in Colorado!!!
I agree 100%
what a douche.

You're an idiot

wow that was clever.

Ubeticn,
STFU you dumbasss. You HATERS still bringing up OJ. You finally got him so give it a rest.
I won't even address the colorado situation because the "GIRL" refused to go to trial. End of story. Stay on subject.
The whole world seems to know a lot of crap thats not true so I will just have to say...CHILD PLEASE
Stay on subject WOWLFER.......
If the Lakers are a great team, then their mettle would need to show up while Kobe gets rested and hopefully heal in time for the playoffs...... Iwould think the best to leave is right after the NBA All-Stars game...
Yes, Kobe should sit, especially when the Lakers play my beloved Nuggets. At this point my guys need all the help they can get.
Who cares about the ringless Nuggets!
Kobe should rest and relax during the All-Star break and come June 2010 he can once again proclaim... "king kong ain't got nuttin' on me!"
I think Kobe should decide if Kobe plays. If he feels he can benefit from a break, he'll take one. If he thinks he's of greater benefit to the team playing hurt, he'll play. Kobe did not rape that woman, she gave it up and then wanted to be PAID for the butti!!!!!
I agree 100%!!

Laker Fan for life!!! Go Lakers
Yes, it's time Kobe took a rest. The average NBA player wouldn't have played half as much as Kobe has with his broken finger and sprained ankle. Kobe is King.
all the lakers need to do is get the 8th spot and be healthy, the rest will take care of itself. stay in newport beach and relax yourself black mamba.
I could care less. The guy is just another sleazeball athlete.
