I do. Vince Young deserved the Heisman. He proved it in the National Championship game. Give the trophy to its rightful owner. Justice, even if it comes late, is still justice.
The entire foundation of College Football cares. To all of us who played College Football and didn't cheat, to allow him to keep any award he won in those years, is a slap in the face!
I am with you Evan, I think right is right and wrong should be punished. I am thinking in light of the 4 year investigation, and all of the infractions...the Heisman Trohpy should wind up on Vince's mantle!
but he DID receive the award. whether he SHOULD have or not is just your opinion, just as all those who voted FOR him believed he DID deserve it. the issue here should be: if the team forfeits victories that he was a part of, then (theoretically) his statistics from those games shouldn't count. without them, he doesn't get introduced at the Downtown Athletic Club...
This is pretty simple. The team cheated and didn't follow the rules that every other team is held accountable for. Therefore, Reggie should lose the Heisman and any other award he won that year.
Yes, he should lose it. A clear infraction of the rules. And he continues to say that he did nothing wrong, while settling out of court with his his accusers. Give me a break. He's obviously being coached by attorneys. A little candor would go a long way, but you are not going to get it out of Reggie.
Bobby Bowden lost a chance to become college football's winningest coach because FSU was stripped of several games because of rules violations. Reggie Bush is no better than Coach Bowden, he deserves to give up the Heisman.
Vince Young should get the Trophy....Reggie knew what he was doing all along was wrong,PERIOD!!!!! I do not think Vince would accept it though.....It would be an issue with players in the NFL...
oh come on everybody. college football is as dirty business and everyone here knows that. bush being ineligible does not mean he would have performed any different.
It's funny how the NCAA only investigates these things after the Player has left for the NFL. Only then do they try to enforce the rules. They make a lot of money off of theses kids. So, only after USC had made a lot of money off of ticket sales and T.V. promotions did they decide to investigate. Now, after all of these years they want to take back his Heisman? What for. And why on earth would Vince Young want a award that he didn't really win?
Get real, you can 'strip" the Heismann from him, or take the BCS title away - but you can't change history. And giving the title & Heismann to someone else is just a hollow gesture. Everyone will really know who won.
The Heismann is not only for sports ability but for character as well. His moral character is at question in this situation. I think that Pete Carroll may have seen this coming down the pipeline and have been fully aware that it was going on and jumped ship in advance while he could rather than remain with the albatross of USC. I also think that Pete just turned his head in ignorance of what was going on to keep one of his "star" players around. Shame on USC!
Bush received compesation, making him inelligable. If he is not inelligible then any compensation receiving player can win - i.e. NFL players. And I don't think he was the best player that year if NFL players are included in voting.
And I don't want to hear the whining about how "everyone" cheats. Perhaps many do (but I honestly doubt everyone does). And anyone who cheats and gets caught should be punished.
He earned it, let him keep it. It's given to the best FB player and that was him. Doesn't matter if he was getting paid or not, nobody was better! Getting "paid" was taken care of by sanctions on USC. It's just too bad that the current team/recruits will now have to suffer for the indiscretions of others.
Who cares?

Vince deserves it before and after this stuff!
The entire foundation of College Football cares. To all of us who played College Football and didn't cheat, to allow him to keep any award he won in those years, is a slap in the face!
You guys are right. Vince was head and shoulders better than Bush. All the @!$%#s that voted for Bush should lose their privilege to vote.
I am with you Evan, I think right is right and wrong should be punished. I am thinking in light of the 4 year investigation, and all of the infractions...the Heisman Trohpy should wind up on Vince's mantle!
Well the rest of the pacific teams have been given a leg up for four years.
Leave it. I'm a graduate of Notre Dame, and I think well enough should be left alone. Bush should keep the trophy - he earned it.
And was well compensated for it (while still in school.)
bill, again vince was head and shoulders better than bush. the little sissy rnning back should have never received the award.

Bush should be able to keep it. the NCAA is a joke. Your saying that Vince did'nt get help on all of his exams while at UT. You know he did.
Dan, you know squadoushe!
oh come on everybody. college football is as dirty business and everyone here knows that. bush being ineligible does not mean he would have performed any different.
Actually, he would've performed differently because he wouldn't have performed AT ALL had the school followed the rules.
xcj, I hope you have adult supervision when you go in public.
Simple: If he was ineligible, then he should not keep the Heisman. Is it ever going to happen, No. End of story.
He was deemed ineligeble as of Dec. 2004. If he is ineligible, how can he win the Heisman?
Why did they take 5 years to decide something?
His team won the Super bowl. He has done well in New Orleans on the team and with the community.
If something was really there why did they not take care of it when he was at USC or shortly there after.

I totally agree with Shanta-1084333

... by cheating. Just wanted to finish your sentence. Makes it a great post :)

It's a no brainer. He was ineligible - simple as that.

Vince was robbed!!!!!
