This was another case of the Obama administration worrying more about symbolism rather than substance. If I get this right, according to your story... President Obama was watching Fox News... saw the edited Breitbert clip and immediately called Vilsack and told him to fire her on the spot because he didn't want Glenn Beck to know.
When Vilsack called the President back and informed him that she was in the car driving... Obama demanded Vilsack call her repeatedly and said "... tell her to pull over on the side of the road and have her text in her resignation. Oh and if anybody asks you Vilsack... tell them that you made this decision entirely on your own. PUHH-PHUCKING-PALEEESEEEE!
Vilsack admitted himself that given the history of the USDA's Dept of Agriculture... that he was sensitive over the race issue and acted independently and prematurely as did most of the people across the country.
Trying to pin this on Obama when you have nothing to spew about Breitbart or Fox No-News is not only disingenuous subterfuge... it's a lowlife damn lie. There would be NO STORY OR BUS if such a big deal wasn't made out of it by Fox Fake-News instigated by their Acorn poster boy Breitbart.

The real question was why did the Obama administration panic in haste before Fox News ever ran anything on air. You can't blame Fox for something which was done before they ever ran the story. How many weeks passed from the time she "sent him to one of his own" (November) until she "called everyone I could think of" (March). Yes she learned, but 4 months between asking for her help until she actually did help. I do believe she changed and now believes "haves versus have nots" is more important than white versus black. But it didn't happen overnight. And not until she saw what their white lawyer was doing. (Before anyone jumps on me, I watched the speech, and have not watched fox news today.)

I did take a moment to listen to FOX and they were upfront that the original, edited, clip came out, they did not follow it until after the Lady was fired.
This is indicative of so many people who read some blog and take it for the truth. It doesn't matter if it is from the right or left, blogs are opinions, not statements of fact. That any news source, I heard about this on MSNBC, would run this without doing a full check is irresponsible. It was released to show HOW the people in the audience reacted to her comments because it showed the rascist elements that belong to the NAACP. 1. Hidden agendas- this story was pushed by a blogger and carried forward by a group of people who have a stated mission (Bring a Conservative back to the White House!) and some who are pushing the story so they can make more money and/or a name for themselves.
2. Partisanship at any cost. Us versus Them. Period. We are correct and they are wrong.
3. We are a Sound Bite Society. If we can't get our news in 30 seconds or sum up our beliefs on a bumper sticker then it is entirely too complicated.
4. Knee jerk reactions. Self explanatory.
5. Polls and so called public opinion rule. Gutless wonders flock to DC like a moth to flame. There will be no gathering of facts as I cannot be seen with you or even acknowledge that we have ever met.
6. Frankly, as a group we are for the most part a bunch of jerks. Great! Someone fell off the pedestal on which we placed them? Our appetite for the salacious increases. Wife and kids affected? Who cares?! Does anybody have recent unflattering photos or mugshots of a beloved actor? Let me see them! With each passing year our society as a whole gets dumber and meaner. Sad, sad, sad.

Yep, they're missing it. I feel bad for Shirley but I think the idiot blogger didn't intend for this to be an attack on her. His point exactly is that the NAACP is a racist organization. And I think they are, to exactly the level that the Tea Party is. The point is there are racists everywhere and there is no one race that has the market cornered. Shirley showed great strength in admitting she was somewhat racist, and even greater strength in overcoming her feelings and getting beyond and to a point where she could treat everyone equally. It seems the people listening to her speech may have missed the point though. Apparently the current leadership of the NAACP hasn't taken much of a step forward. Someone else posted that we all need to clean up our own porch first. Prophetic. And very true. If each of us came up with our own opinions and treated ALL others as we want to be treated, we wouldn't have issues like this. Vilsac shouldn't be fired but he needs to go back to leadership school.
